It's easy, and only takes a few moments.As much as we all hope Blount will be retained, he's a free agent too, and he very well may move on and be replaced. Belichick doesn't hesitate to replace those kinds of players, particular a vet RB, and especially if he's able to get one on the cheap or even later on in the draft. It will be interesting to see what happens.
clock killin corey dillon was a great name
Blount needs one....
Amazing that for a 4th and 7th, we got Talib and Blount. Does BB have a naked picture of Schiano?

I like Blount and think he was a good pickup but to put him in the same sentence as Corey Dillon is ambitious in my opinion. Blount has done well as I said but many of his yards are gained in the fourth quarter of decided football games.
QUARTER = 1 - 34, 140, 4.1, 14, 1
QUARTER = 2 - 29, 115, 4.0, 14, 0
QUARTER = 3 - 18, 68, 3.8, 12, 0
QUARTER = 4 - 48, 260, 5.4, 47, 4
He has run for 323 yards on 81 carries for a 3.98 average, 1 touchdown and 2 lost fumbles in the first three quarters of the football game. He best games occurred against the Tampa, Atlanta, Pittsburg and Baltimore which coincidently were all games we led by 10+ points heading into the fourth quarter.
I am not diminishing what Blount has done, that clock killing RB at the end of a ball game is nice to have but I think that people need to take into consideration the causation vs. correlation of Blount’s stats when assessing what he has done and how much value he has added. For a depth player he has been fantastic but he has not done anything close to what Dillon did for this team.
Your absolutely trying to diminish what he has done. The theory that the 4th quarter doesn't matter doesn't make sense, the score at the end of the 4th quarter decides the game. The Ravens closed the lead to a very attainable 13 points. Do you think the Ravens just quit after that and said let's just let them run the clock out on us? I don't. I think they knew the Pats would run, they knew they had to stop the run to win the game, and they couldn't stop it. The Result is Ridley and Blount gashed their way down the field and put the game away with a Blount TD. Trying to make that some meaningless feat of an already decided game is revisionism.

Threads like this demonstrate why it is so easy for the haters around here.Blount was trashed repeatedly by the "this is a crap roster, Belichick doesn't know what he is doing" crowd, yet when once again proven completely wrong they just go into silent mode and wait for their next opportunity to take a dump.
I am not diminishing it at all I clearly said that having a big back who can come in and pound it in the fourth quarter is a great asset to have on the team. I am not going to sit here and ignore the reality that many of Blount’s yards are gained against tired defenses in a game that has a decided outcome, Blount has not contributed to this team building a lead what he has done is help finish games.
I think people go overboard for players just because they see them do some dance that mimics Ray Lewis, yeah that’s great and all but is the running game is not better because of Blount it is just a different player carrying the ball at the end of the game. Ridley had 280 rushing yards and Bolden had 119 rushing yards in the 4th quarter last season so they combined for 399 rushing yards. This season you have Blount with 260 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns and Ridley with 127 rushing yards so they’ve combined for 387 rushing yards. I don’t see a drastic difference except for the name on the back of the jersey being different. That is what I mean by cause vs. correlation you and others speak as if Blount is the cause of this and we have never ran the ball at the end of games in the past but that is completely untrue, Blount is basically filling a purpose which is to run out the clock, if he was not here Ridley or Bolden would handle that responsibility.
glad i was one of the very few who loved the trade and predicted great things from Blount. YES, i am very impressed by, well, ME!
ouch. I think i just hurt my arm patting myself on the back
When we are in the 4th quarter of the playoffs, I am going to like Blount inserted to run the ball. In a vote for the fourth quarter RB of a tight game with the Patriots up by one score, my vote goes for Blount. Who are you voting for?

And when you think about it, Dillon got that that clock-killin' rep when he closed out games too…..in the fourth quarter. That's when you do the clock-killin, provided you have a lead!
Depends upon who they are playing and what the situation is. If they need points and receiving yards it will be Ridley and Vereen, if it is to kill time then it will be Blount.
I actually see Blount as more of an early game RB who softens up the defense by actually putting the hurt on them, and then you bring him back at the end when they are trying to get the ball back, He's not a 1.500 yard back, he's a punisher, and has a real use as such. He also allows them to play a change of pace game because Ridley is much quicker but still runs strong inside. Great pick up for next to nothing, I don't know how anyone can b.tch about him.
