"Usain Bolt says he 'is ready' to play in the NFL if the Patriots or Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers ever came calling.

The Olympic sprint champion, 33, told TMZ he would consider taking up American football for the right team after he tied the quickest ever NFL 40-yard dash with no warm-up and wearing tracksuit and trainers.

When probed what it would take for him to play Bolt replied: 'If the Patriots or Aaron Rodgers call me. If they call me, I'm ready.'

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist is also confident about his chances of success, saying 'of course' when asked if he would win a championship with the Patriots."

Yeah, he'll ready until he experiences his first NFL tackle.

Usain Bolt is ridiculously fast and we'll never see someone like him in our lifetimes again, probably.

No, I don't want to sign him. But God, he is a once in a lifetime talent.

He can take over for the valuable role of go route specialist currently occupied by Matthew Slater.

He could play on the special teams lol...
But it depends if he can catch, obviously that won’t work if he can’t catch a ball.

still it would be fun to see him take a shot or tryout.

6'4"....240 pounds....

Still runs a sub 4.3 in regular clothes...

We would be fools not to at least kick the tires here...maybe a futures contract in January....

No thanks.

He can't catch. And our WR need to have a lot of awareness, the routes aren't just in a straight line.

If only Al Davis were still alive....

They've already tried that experiment with Jeff Demps.

BB/BK would re-sign AB first before UB haha

so even Bolt knows Rodgers runs the packers since he didn’t reference the Pats qb

Apparently he isn't an NFL history buff. Al Davis tried this experiment with James Jett. It didn't work out all that well.

Maybe when he was like 25..

Can he run a route?
“Root” or “rout”?

I’ve always been a “root” guy!:p

It is a good question...doubt he could pick up the offense having never played

Really hard to believe he's 33 now

The 49ers did it with Renaldo Nehamiah.

"During his three years as a wide receiver he caught 43 passes for 754 yards, a 17.5 average, and four touchdowns. Nehemiah would draw the defense into deep coverage whenever he was on the field. He would often be guarded with double coverage."

They've already tried that experiment with Jeff Demps.

Playing the same sport as Usain Bolt doesn't make Jeff Demps the same guy.

I'd rather sign Tacko Fall for red zone routes.:D
