Twas the day before playoffs, and all through Gillette,
Everyone was still working, all dripping with sweat.
The banners were hung, from the South End with care,
In hopes that a fifth, soon would be there.
The Chiefs knew the Pats’ gameplan would bring them much dread,
While visions of Gronk –Spikes danced in their heads
With Mr. Kraft in his necktie, and Tom in his Uggs,
The opposition was paranoid, still scanning for bugs.
When out on the field, there rose a great clamor,
Bill ran from his office, about to drop the hammer.
Looking on from the endzone, he stood and just glared
His hands in his hoodie; the sleeves were not spared.
The scoreboard shone, on the Foxborough snow,
(A dreadful addition to the opponent’s sorrows)
It comes as no surprise what crossed his eyes then,
but the team's blocking sled, used by 6 massive D-linemen
With a big, burly genius driving them like militia,
Bill knew right away, it’s just Matt Patricia.
Stronger than oxen, he called to the beasts,
“This weekend we blitz; on the QB, we feast!”
Like obedient dogs, they listened the same,
While he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
“Now Branch! Now, Malcom, now Akiem Hicks!
On Chandler! On Sheard! On Rob Ninkovich!”
“Be sure to contain, and keep those hands up!
Get under the O-line, don’t let them lock-up!”
Bill walked over to Matt, and spoke in his ear:
“Maclin is hurt, but from the gameplan, don’t veer”
Patricia agrees and Bill cracked a sly smile
Returning to his office, to get his offence in style.
He and McDaniels discussed the O’s plan.
Everything from scheme, right down to the man.
“Gronk’s our best weapon, and Lafell can go deep.
And, of course, we have Brady who can win in his sleep.
Edelman’s so quick, and Jackson can plow,
And James White will release and get open somehow.”
There is one concern, but if the O-line is stable,
The Chiefs shouldn’t stop us, they just won’t be able.”
The fans, they are nervous, but have a confidence unwavered
This is the time of year they love, the time that’s most savoured.
Other fans, they show jealousy while basically crying:
“But they were deflating, and before that they were spying!”
Pats fans brush it off, as it’s just sour grapes.
Let them watch the spectacle, with mouths strictly agape,
The focus is winning, the fire’s alive.
This one is special. This could be for 5.
Tomorrow's job first, while we brave the cold in our jackets in hats,
The Razor will be rocking with screams of “GO PATS!”
