Good luck getting Andrew Luck. He un-declared because of the CBG uncertainty vs a sure thing at Stanford. I think he's going to be good in the NFL some day.
Exactly. College QB's all know they will have a season to play in in 2011. QB's drafted in 2011 may well find themselves sitting at home with no contract being negotiated, and no coaches and no playbook to learn, and no shot at getting on the field in 2011. One of the aspects of the new rookie cap will be how quickly you can get to the level your performance incentives start to kick in and sweeten your slotted deal and how quickly teams determine it's time to offer you that now all important second deal complete with double digit signing bonuses and guaranteed money. This appears to be a fairly lackluster QB class in which all of them will be crap shoot developmental projects to some extent. The fact that they may not even have an opportunity to be developed as rookies makes selecting one early all the more problematic. Of course you could say that about the entire draft this season, but the fact is QB is the hardest position to transition from college to the pros.
As I understand it unless a new CBA is in place by draft day, once these players get the call saying they've been selected by team X that will be the last contact they have with each other until a new CBA is in place...
