Due to a major presentation I need to give Wednesday, I don't think I'll be able to do a seven-rounder this year. However, it would be downright selfish of me not to drop a little wisdom on the crowd (tongue in cheek). I really tried to get more trades in, since it always happens that way. However the way the draft fell, and the current trends in the NFL, and the depth of this draft conspired against it to some degree. Anyway:

1. Rams - Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma. Unless they get a notion he'll be impossible to sign, it's already a done deal.

2. Lions - Ndamakong Suh DT Nebraska.

3. Bucs - Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma.

4. Redskins - Russell Okung OT Oklahoma St. Living in Redskinland, I know that they're high on Colt Brennan as a developmental guy, and I know that they don't have a body on the roster who can play left tackle.

5. Chiefs - Trent Williams OT Oklahoma. If you're keeping score, that's 4 out of 5 players from the Sooner state. WTF?

6. Seahawks - Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech.

7. Browns - Eric Berry S Tennessee.

8. Raiders - Bruce Campbell OT Maryland.

9. Bills - Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa. For the record, I think he's going to be as big a bust as his fellow Hawkeye Robert Gallery. No lateral movement, Tyrannosaurus-armed. He'll be a mediocre guard in a year.

10. Jaguars - Joe Haden CB Florida. I think the Jags will shop this pick, but unless anybody really wants McClain, I don't think there's any takers.

11. Broncos - Rolando McClain LB Alabama. To me, the easiest projection of the draft.

12. Dolphins - Dan Williams DL Tennessee.

13. 49ers - Anthony Davis OT Rutgers. Not buying the Clausen angle.

14. Seahawks - Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma St. Seattle has been in on every veteran free agent WR this offseason. Pete Carroll is stoked.

15. Giants - Sean Weatherspoon LB Missouri. I think the G-men would love to trade down a few slots and take Spoon, but again, I don't see a trade up right now. Not even for Clausen.

16. Titans - Kyle Wilson CB Boise St.

17. 49ers - Taylor Mays S USC. Seems like a Singletary guy.

18. Steelers - Sergio Kindle LB Texas.

19. Falcons - Brandon Graham DE Michigan. San Diego could trade up here for Matthews, but I'm not sure if they see this coming....

20. Texans - Ryan Matthews RB Fresno St.

21. Bengals - Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma.

22. Patriots - And who else for the first trade of the draft? New England trades #22 to Detroit for #34 & #66. The Lions select CJ Spiller RB Clemson.

23. Packers - Charlie Brown OT USC.

24. Eagles - Earl Thomas S Texas.

25. Ravens - Jared Odrick DL Penn St.

26. Cardinals - Jason Pierre-Paul LB South Florida.

27. Cowboys - Maurkice Pouncey C Florida.

28. Chargers - TRADE. San Diego trades #28 and their fourth round pick to Cleveland for #38 and their third round pick. The Browns select Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame.

29. Jets - Mike Iupate G Idaho.

30. Vikings - Rodger Safford OT Indiana.

31. Colts - Bryan Price DT UCLA.

32. Saints - Everson Griffin DE USC.

33. Rams - Devin McCourty S Rutgers.
34. Patriots - Jerry Hughes LB TCU.
35. Bucs - Carlos Dunlap DE Florida.
36. Chiefs - Terrence Cody NT Alabama.
37. Eagles - TRADE. Philadelphia trades #37 and #55 to New England for #45, #47, and a 7th round pick. The Patriots select Golden Tate WR Notre Dame.
38. Chargers - Cam Thomas NT North Carolina.
39. Raiders - Brandon Spikes LB Florida.
40. Chargers - Jonathan Dwyer RB Georgia Tech.
41. Bills - Lamarr Houston DE Texas.
42. Bucs - Demaryius Thomas WR Georgia Tech.
43. Broncos - Arrelious Benn WR Illinois.
44. Eagles - Patrick Robinson CB Florida St.
45. Broncos - Ricky Sapp LB Clemson.
46. Giants - Tyson Alualu DL Cal.
47. Eagles - Alex Carrington DE Arkansas St.
48. Panthers - Brandon Lafell WR LSU.
49. 49ers - Nate Allen S South Florida.
50. Chiefs - TRADE. Kansas City trades #50 to the Jets for #61 and a 4th round pick. The Jets select Navarro Bowman LB Penn St.
51. Texans - Kareem Jackson CB Alabama.
52. Steelers - Vlad Ducasse OL Massachusetts.
53. Patriots - Arthur Jones DE Syracuse.
54. Bengals - Daryl Washington LB TCU.
55. Patriots - Dexter McCluster RB/WR Mississippi. For the record, I wouldn't choose McCluster here, but I have a strong feeling BB would. Strong.
56. Packers - Jahvid Best RB Cal.
57. Ravens - Rob Gronkowski TE Arizona.
58. Cardinals - Sean Lee LB Penn St.
59. Cowboys - Jared Veldheer OT Hillsdale.
60. Seahawks - Montario Hardesty RB Tennessee.
61. Chiefs - Morgan Burnett S Georgia Tech.
62. Vikings - Colt McCoy QB Texas.
63. Colts - Chad Jones S LSU.
64. Saints - Eric Norwood LB South Carolina.
65. Rams - Damian Williams WR USC.
66. Patriots - Ben Tate RB Auburn.
67. Bucs - Eric Decker WR Minnesota.
68. Chiefs - John Jerry OL Mississippi.
69. Raiders - Donald Butler LB Washington.
70. Eagles - Koa Misi LB Utah.
71. Chargers - Jamar Chaney LB Mississippi St.
72. Bills - Linval Joseph NT East Carolina.
73. Dolphins - Major Wright S Florida.
74. Jaguars - Tim Tebow QB Florida.
75. Bears - Jon Asamoah G Illinois.
76. Giants - Geno Atkins DT Georgia.
77. Titans - Taylor Price WR Ohio.
78. Panthers - Corey Wooten DE Northwestern.
79. 49ers - Brandon Ghee CB Wake Forest.
80. Broncos - Matt Tenant C Boston College.
81. Texans - Jerome Murphy CB South Florida.
82. Steelers - Jay Ross DL East Carolina.
83. Falcons - Ed Wang OT Virginia Tech.
84. Bengals - Rashad Jones S Georgia.
85. Browns - Jason Worilds LB Virginia Tech.
86. Packers - Greg Hardy LB Mississippi.
87. Eagles - Daniel Te'o-Nesheim DE Washington. From back in the day when I used to read Easterbrook, Nesheim translates to "Eagles" in Hebrew. Which means this has to happen. Maybe somebody of the Tribe can verify for me.
88. Cardinals - Torrell Troup NT Central Florida.
89. Cardinals - Chris Cook CB Virginia.
90. Cowboys - Mardy Gilyard WR Cincinnati.
91. Chargers - Roddrick Muckelroy LB Texas.
92. Browns - Myron Lewis S Vanderbilt.
93. Vikings - Akwasi Owusu-Ansah CB Indiana (PA).
94. Colts - Selvish Capers OT West Virginia.
95. Saints - Darrell Stuckey S Kansas.
96. Bengals -Austen Lane DE Murray St.
97. Titans - Mike Williams WR Syracuse.
98. Falcons - Aaron Hernandez TE Florida.

Patriots through 3: Hughes, Tate, Jones, McCluster, Tate

Likely very close, IMHO - except for the McCluster pick. I'd rather have Misi, Chaney, Tennant or Te-O'Nesheim, who I thought was Irish, BTW. ;)

Great job!

I like the Pats Trade of 22 with Graham and Kindle off the board (although I have to admit I'd be love-struck with Spiller at 22).

I love getting both Tates in the 2nd round.

Didnt see Jimmy Clausen, QB, ND anywhere.

I do like the Pats picks though.

If CJ is there at 22 and we trade back i might have to shake a baby...:)

A realistic three round mock is very difficult to put together, nice job.

I will enter my guesses for what the Pats will do next week but my wants are:

Hughes
Benn
TRADE - Haynesworth
Spikes

I would be stoked with this draft.

I love this mock. Spiller and Claussen, Wow! BB will will potential dance partners galore at #22 and you know he can't pass that up. Good trades!

Good job on the mock DH44. I like the first 2 picks but 2 RB's with Mis and Wooten still on the board?

:yeahthat:

You'll hear me weeping from Berlin. But I don't think it's going to happen.

Holmes & Marshall are in the division now. We need another CB, not 3 WR/RBs, by the end of the 2nd/3rd round. Substitute a CB for one of those WR/RBs, and you got a deal.

That is a nice piece of work,,

No Dyheat interest for Odrick?

But I don't understand all the Patriot love for Hughes, he does not seem to have the size/ thickness BB likes for his front 7, plus Hughes did not impress me in this past January's bowl game, but that is just my 2 cents.

RB Dwyer doesn't look special to my eyes either,,

I hope the Pats can land LB Daniel Te'o-Nesheim, instead of the Eagles, he has nice size and hustle,,,

37. Eagles - TRADE. Philadelphia trades #37 and #55 to New England for #45, #47, and a 7th round pick. The Patriots select Golden Tate WR Notre Dame.

As always, put a lot of effort in.

My qualms:

Golden Tate isn't worth trading up for. And definitely not at the expense of trading a pick out of the 2nd round and not at the expense of a 7th round pick.

McCluster is all hype. He's a barely adequate route runner and he's never been asked to block in the backfield as a running back, so him picking up the blitz ala Faulk is not going to be something he does anytime soon.. So, basically, he'd be a guy without a position on the Pats.. I don't see the Pats using a 2nd round pick on a guy like that. Especially when you have issues with the O-line.. That will be a higher priority.

I like the Ben Tate pick.

Like Ben Tate, not so much for mightey mouse. Would rather use another pick on the front 7 of the d than take two backs in the second.

i like all the picks but i would be shocked if 6.5 270lbs Jason Pierre-Paul, is there at #22 and BB dose not draft him. i could even see BB tradeing up to get him if he gets passed denver and miami.

Agree about McCluster. A better Faulk replacement might be Dorin ****erson:

6'2"/226; 4.40/40, 1.53 10yd, 24 reps, 43.5" vertical, 10'5" broad, 4.30 shuttle, 6.96 3-cone. All of these numbers would easily put him among the top ten RB prospects. Runs good routes, has very good hands, strong off the press, enthusiastic *if not yet "accomplished") blocker and coaches-up well.

But the Pats will need to engineer a 3rd-rounder to get him.

My guess is that you have underestimated the demand for quarterbacks. I can see all three of Clausen, McCoy and Tebow going a good deal earlier -- and this, of course, will have knock-on effects.

If CJ is there at 22 and we trade back i might have to shake a baby...:)

Why? He's not a pressing need and the RB's in this draft are a few rounds deep. I don't want to trade out of the first round again but if we did and the draft fell like that, I would be happy.

I disagree. If he's floating around in the early second I think we should trade up. Tate is good speed, is extremely bright, and has played in the system before. He can line up on the outside, in the slot, or out of the backfield. Tate would be a solid second round pick.
