First off, I would like to complement Russell on this article. It is fun to reminisce about the 2003 and 2004 teams. After all, we did win Super Bowls in both years with a 21 game win streak sandwiched in between. It's fun to recall the dramatic great times such as the Troy Brown game winner against the Dolphins (as noted in the article).
I do have one big gripe against this article, and that is in calling the 2007 flawed defensively. That is simply not true, perhaps you feel this way because the offense got most of the attention. Let's keep in mind that the offense got this attention because MULTIPLE RECORDS were being broken (most total team points, Brady TD passes, Randy TD catches). They were worth the attention they were receiving, but that does not suggest that the defense was flawed.
Do you recall who was playing on that '07 defense..I'll remind you......Rodney Harrison, Tedy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, Asante Samuel, Roosevelt Colvin, Vince Wilfork, Richard Seymour, Junior Seau and Adalius Thomas. Flawed?!?!?!? FAR FROM IT. That lineup is sounds like an absolute DREAM to most defensive coordinators.
