The complete and utter brilliance of this offseason

Keep all this in mind when the Pats' 2017 draft is "graded". They won't count Ealy or Allen or Cooks among the "draft haul", even though they were all acquired by using those draft picks as capital. The pundits will just look at who the Pats actually drafted and will say, boy, they didn't get much done in the draft.

Bill Polian says he would have made the same moves as BB made but couldn't say anything before the moves in case word got to the teams involved.

Absolutely! Oh, and he had Brady rated as a first rounder too.

Still have to resign hightower (which is looking more and more likely as his market seems cold) and hold onto butler.

If they do those two things bill really has created a juggernaut on both sides of the ball. Teams will have to wonder how they are going to defend that offense, and how they are going to score on that defense?

Interesting that through all this, right now the Patriots would qualify for three 2018 compensatory picks, in the fourth, fifth, and seventh. Obviously due to all the trades.
The one downside is using multiple picks in a deep draft. The Patriots will have fewer high-upside low-cost players in 2018-2019-2020-2021.

Again this is just amazing. You can literally hear the AFC East crapping their pants.....the rest of the NFL is like you gotta be f**king kidding right right RIGHT!!

Goodell is in his troll cave reaching for his Tums and looking at the recent photos of him handing the Lombardi to Brady who punked his ass by taking your smear campaign and turning it into the One For The Thumb and yet anothet SB MVP (the MVP that matters most)

After todays moves Goodell gets a real sobering chill that makes him realize he must eventually hand even more Lombardis to the big bad wolves instead of his beloved Green Beans.

TRUE Patriot Fan Nirvana for the beginning of this 2017 my friends, this is a rare case of karma coming back 10 fold. The SB Win and this amazing but well thought out FA first 48hrs......yeah cherish this, just cherish this moment

Somebody needs to do one of those Hitler/Goodell dubbed videos and just talk about the last 3 days.

Those two women with the one crying....

"Don't worry....They still haven't traded Alladin"

The Zen Master said, "We'll see."

Last year the Patriots had few key injuries, a healthy, rested Brady and an improbable SB comeback. It's great fun that the Patriots are restocking, getting younger, making a lot of moves, but let's not count on another SB trip just yet. Plus there's more to come.

It is damn fun though, isn't it?

One fascinating aspect of the spate of trades over the past few years is that several of them -- Cooks, Rowe and Allen off the top of my head -- are for young players with multiple reasonably affordable years left on their contracts. That's a very unusual type of player to acquire in the NFL.

Can someone PLEASE do a Hitler video regarding all the deals/upgrades the Pats made after just winning the SB???:D:D:D

What's so impressive is they've gotten better (and younger) since winning their 2nd SB in 3 years and they still have more moves to make. It's unbelievable!!
The Patriots play chess and everyone else in that league plays checkers.

Definately. And this bears repeating...

If your a vet w/o a ring, why wouldn't you want to play here for the minimum? Long never sniffed a playoff game and got a ring! Anyone think of a player w/o a ring? Is this fun or what?

What does it all say to me?

We are going for as many as we can. We owe it to Tom and the rest...

Brandon Marshall. Are we playing word association?

GM Belichick is simply amazing! The New England talent evaluation machine is tuned and running! I have NO IDEA how any of this will play out, but ... wow!

Given a very deep draft class and the uncontrollable realities of a competitive FA market, the Pats have apparently shifted their tactics a bit. As of the first two days of Free Agency, the BB has used top draft picks to acquire some very talented, young players that have proven track records in the NFL.

Meanwhile, the other 31 take their chances on unproven talent in the top two rounds of the draft.

As of this moment we still sit with several picks, albeit lower ones, having started with 9. We still have a decent amount of cap space left to address the middle class and possibly re-sign Hightower. I hope that Malcolm signs the tender and has another excellent season with us. What a secondary that would be!

Does Jimmy G stay or go? I haven't a clue. Either way, we appear to be in an enviable situation and it's only March! It sucks to be the other 31!

Is anyone else noticing a kind of respect-urgency to take advantage of TB being the QB? So, what's the current strategy? Is it, we're going to throw on you, AND you have to stop throwing on us? Check. Can do...on both ends. This secondary could be shutdown. And the offense...the rest is health and conditioning in the post-season.
