Terrell Suggs is back

Suggs is a loud mouth piece of crap that has never won anything on a team that is overrated by the media every god damn year. I cant believe they got so much cache for one Superbowl win a decade ago.

Can we just put Suggs and Joey Porter and Bart Scott in a rocket and fire it into the sun already?

Don't forget to throw in LaClassian along for the ride.

Can we just put Suggs and Joey Porter and Bart Scott in a rocket and fire it into the sun already?

You want to extinguish the sun?

Can we just put Suggs and Joey Porter and Bart Scott in a rocket and fire it into the sun already?

Suggs would talk sh!t about how the Sun isn't that hot and how it gets rules changed because it got hit in the knee while opposing rockets can hit the moon without a suspension. Bart Scott would talk about punching the Sun in the mouth while Joey Porter and ten other dudes would jump the Sun in a casino after Scott punched it in the mouth.

Clearly, he is in love with Tom Brady. In order to be part of Brady's life, he has to talk about TB and associate himself with TB. It makes him seem part of Brady's life, which appears to be his goal.

If he ever really did try and hurt Brady, or anyone else on the Pats, I would hope the whole Pats team would beat him to a pulp. I don't care if they all get suspended, it would be worth it to see his ass beat.

Is there a bigger whining biatch in the entire NFL? He needs to unbunch his panties.

It's ok Mr Suggs, help is on the way, we've called the "waaaaaaaaammmmmbulance" for you...:bricks:

wow he's still thinking about Brady?

after the Jets picked up a few Ravens players, i actually forgot Suggs was a Raven and kept thinking he was a Jet up until 5 minutes ago. I guess the fact that the pats play the jets monday night and the Bart Scott/Rex Ryan factor had something to do with that.

I can't belive he is still talking about Tom Brady.

Somebody is ****oo for cocoa puffs.

The Globe today had more of Thuggs's rant:

“The league has their favorites,’’ Suggs said. “One being in Indy [Manning] and one being with that team up north [Brady]. Besides those two, everybody is fair game. Like I always said, [the Bengals’] Carson Palmer got his knee hurt in 2005, but there was no rule made. Then Tom Brady got hit in the knee and all of a sudden there is a rule and possible suspensions, excessive fines. It’s just getting ridiculous.’’

Angry Ward says league doesn’t care - The Boston Globe

Interesting take. According to Wikipedia, the rule actually was changed after the Palmer injury:

During the off-season, the league's rules committee modified the rule regarding low hits on quarterbacks. The new rule prohibited defenders from hitting a passer at or below the knee unless they are blocked into him. Injuries to Palmer, Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger, and Tampa Bay's Brian Griese were cited as reasons for the new rule. The rule now requires that defenders take every opportunity to avoid hitting a quarterback at or below the knees when the quarterback is in a defenseless position looking to throw with both feet on the ground.

Carson Palmer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The so-called Brady rule was a clarification (ie Wilfork was fined; Pollard was not):

the league's Competition Committee adopted a clarification of the current rule on hits to a quarterback in the knee area or below. The clarification specifically prohibits a defender on the ground who hasn't been blocked or fouled directly into the quarterback from lunging or diving at the quarterback's lower legs.

So, really, "The Brady Rule" is a clarification of "The Palmer Modification."

I think this is just a rehashing of what Suggs said previously, but just in case he was talking once again I'll go ahead and post it.

Suggs: Brady, Manning play by different rules - CSNNE.com
"The league has their favorites," Suggs said. “One being in Indy and one being with that other team up north. Besides those two, everybody is fair game. Some quarterbacks are getting the calls right away. Some quarterbacks they don’t care.

The final paragraph in Phil Perry's column pretty much sums it up:
One would think Suggs would be more focused on the Steelers, and that the game is on Suggs' list of things more important than Brady's hair. But Wednesday's comments suggest he's just another Brady-hater obsessed with the quarterback's locks.

As Deus and Uncle Rico pointed out, letting Suggs speak is like giving him enough rope to hang himself with; when he opens his mouth he proves his ignorance regarding the so-called Brady rule.

But what I would like to know is this: when Suggs said that, why didn't the person(s) in the media he was speaking with point out that he was incorrect, and the rule was actually put in place after Palmer (and other's) injury a couple years prior to that? Were they trying to be buddy-buddy with Suggs? Are they afraid of Suggs? Did they just want him to keep speaking so they would have more sound bites, more headlines for their columns?

Or is the media just as ignorant about the rules and recent history of the NFL?

This isn't to give Suggs a pass, but the rule is indeed known as the "Brady rule" and not the "Palmer rule". The reason for that is that very same media; that's the phrase they coined. Result is many - actually most - NFL fans are under the misconception that the league did indeed put the rule in place after Brady's injury, not Palmer's and Griese's. My guess is that some players such as Suggs honestly believe that to be true also.

In a way it is similar to the phrase 'spygate' which the media coined after the infamous event in 2007. The term 'spy' implies that the filming was done secretly; that was never the case as the cameraman was out in the wide open for anybody to see. As a result to this day you still see references about "secret hidden cameras" by fans and even media members that incorrectly assume what actually did take place.

Again, I'm not giving Suggs a pass here, but the way the media reports things does have a profound effect on the way many people view things - apparently Suggs being one of them. Regardless, why Suggs is talking about this and not focusing on the Steelers is very strange. He is clearly obsessed with Brady and the Patriots.

Its really embarrassing that a) Suggs doesn't know this b) no mediot will point it out to him. With the latter, maybe they are afraid of being murdered. Ravens Linebackers have a history of that, after all.

Apparently Suggs has an odd sense of humor. When asked by a reporter how he elevated his play this season his answer was:

"I quit doing cocaine."

While the Baltimore reporters all cracked up (sucked up?) in response, all I can think of is what the response of the media would be if any other player on any other team - not just the Patriots - had said that.

Cocaine jokes - -very funny; just what the NFL is looking for. Why on earth would this be his first response? Someone in the media needs to call him out on this crap, as well as his ignorance of NFL rules.

hmmmm Suggs reminds me of .....Sloth from the Goonies ....... :p

Re: Suggs: League favors Brady and Manning more than other QBs

Terrell Suggs: The gift that keeps on giving. :rocker:

Re: Suggs: League favors Brady and Manning more than other QBs

Good to see he knows of the Carson Palmer rule then :D the man is truly an imbecile.

Re: Suggs: League favors Brady and Manning more than other QBs

At least we will have bulletin board material if we play them again.
