Don't forget to throw in LaClassian along for the ride.
“The league has their favorites,’’ Suggs said. “One being in Indy [Manning] and one being with that team up north [Brady]. Besides those two, everybody is fair game. Like I always said, [the Bengals’] Carson Palmer got his knee hurt in 2005, but there was no rule made. Then Tom Brady got hit in the knee and all of a sudden there is a rule and possible suspensions, excessive fines. It’s just getting ridiculous.’’
During the off-season, the league's rules committee modified the rule regarding low hits on quarterbacks. The new rule prohibited defenders from hitting a passer at or below the knee unless they are blocked into him. Injuries to Palmer, Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger, and Tampa Bay's Brian Griese were cited as reasons for the new rule. The rule now requires that defenders take every opportunity to avoid hitting a quarterback at or below the knees when the quarterback is in a defenseless position looking to throw with both feet on the ground.
the league's Competition Committee adopted a clarification of the current rule on hits to a quarterback in the knee area or below. The clarification specifically prohibits a defender on the ground who hasn't been blocked or fouled directly into the quarterback from lunging or diving at the quarterback's lower legs.
"The league has their favorites," Suggs said. “One being in Indy and one being with that other team up north. Besides those two, everybody is fair game. Some quarterbacks are getting the calls right away. Some quarterbacks they don’t care.
One would think Suggs would be more focused on the Steelers, and that the game is on Suggs' list of things more important than Brady's hair. But Wednesday's comments suggest he's just another Brady-hater obsessed with the quarterback's locks.
The Globe today had more of Thuggs's rant:
Angry Ward says league doesn’t care - The Boston Globe
Interesting take. According to Wikipedia, the rule actually was changed after the Palmer injury:

The so-called Brady rule was a clarification (ie Wilfork was fined; Pollard was not):

So, really, "The Brady Rule" is a clarification of "The Palmer Modification."
Apparently Suggs has an odd sense of humor. When asked by a reporter how he elevated his play this season his answer was:
"I quit doing cocaine."

While the Baltimore reporters all cracked up (sucked up?) in response, all I can think of is what the response of the media would be if any other player on any other team - not just the Patriots - had said that.
