In the midst of practice, Seau will yell :

"Seat 2A"

"Two days till Friday, coach."

Belichick would fume, but just a little :"'Seau, can't we just (expletive) concentrate on what we have to do right now,'"

Comments from Junior Seau's post-game press conference:
Q. Being involved in the game for so long, as a student of the game, put it into perspective, the first Super Bowl in more than a generation to go to the Super Bowl undefeated.

SEAU: The only thing you can say is it's special. Number one, a lot of hard work. To stay humble, to be able to be hungry, to be able to persevere during those close games that we've had along the journey, we now have one more game, one more game to be part of that forever. That's special. That's special. You cannot refute, if we happen to go in there and do what we need to do, separating is key in history, we have a chance. And that's all we ever need. All we know is that, you know, we work every day, position ourselves to have a chance on game day, a chance, and we do. We have that chance now.

Q. Can you talk about who you want to play?

SEAU: We have a chance. (Laughter) We have a chance.

Q. Does that mean it doesn't matter?

SEAU: We have a chance.

This will be just a hair below seeing Rodney, arm in a sling, tears in his eyes, confetti raining down on him.

Hopefully Junior gets his moment.

Something tells me that Seau will get his ring.

Re: Would be great to see Junior Seau finally get a ring

Seau's stop on 3rd down reminded me of the goal line stand against Colts back in 2003 (Willie McGinest). Both of them rushed through the gap and tackled the runner behind the line of scrimmage for a loss. If you look check out the tape, you will see what I'm talking about. Even the jersey numbers are the same:)

Re: Would be great to see Junior Seau finally get a ring

I love this story that Harrison relayed to the press last week:

"Seau, who was selected a defensive captain by his teammates for this season, commands as much admiration in the Patriots locker room as he did in San Diego. A few days before the Jacksonville game, veteran safety Rodney Harrison, unable to sleep, arrived at the Patriots facility at 6 a.m. only to find Seau hard at work.

Seau was there before anyone. There were weights to lift, film to watch, plays to study, muscles to soak in the hot tub.

"You can just tell by his work ethic that he's never taken a single day for granted," said Harrison, a teammate of Seau's in San Diego before joining the Patriots in 2003. "He knows this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. He walked away from the game, and he came back. He got hurt last year, and now he's taking advantage of the opportunity and is making the most of it.""

Great article about one of the all-time greats.

Seau hasn't taken anything for granted this season, he came to the Patriots for one reason: the ring. He's now one step away and it's great knowing that the Patriots defense has guys like him, Bruschi and Harrison to keep the team grounded and prepared on a level no other team is capable.

what do you think Seau's charter flight seat will be?

Thanks to helpful hints from members of this forum, I was lucky enough to

secure tickets to both playoff games. I was amazed on Sunday at how

good Junior Seau and Tedy Bruschi could still play. They looked like a

couple of twenty five year olds out on the field. I was in the fourth row of

the South endzone and got to see many key plays up close.

Junior will always be a Charger for life.

On Feb. 3, I will be rooting for Junior.
