They won't take a corner like Davis period. IMO, his "football speed" is too slow for the Pats and NFL receivers.

Rang has the Vikings taking Smith at 22 and the Pats taking Davis at 23. Krafty had the order right. He just mistyped the numbers.
Chad Reuter, on the other hand, has the Vikings taking Davis and the Pats taking Clay Matthews. In the 2nd round, he has the Pats taking Patrick Chung at 47 and Victor Harris at 58. And lastly, Trevor Canfield in the 3rd.
who the heck is rob rang?
Chung's a good safety and a good pick. If they take a corner in the first it could very well be Francies when it's all said and done. He should rise but I'd definitely take Smith over Davis right now.
Massachusetts has a decade old law that prohibits any NFL team based in Mass. from taking a player with the last name of Chung in the NFL draft. Weird law, I know, but it was instituted for good reason.
Link please?
I have a fair amount of respect for Rob Rang - he seems to be one of the better draft evaluators out there - but I don't see Vontae Davis being on the Pats' board. Alphonso Smith may be short, but I'll wager BB would take lack of height over lack of effort and consistency any day.

The law specifically states they can't draft anyone whose first name is Eugene. The last name doesn't matter.
Called him "Geno." The Eye-talian community thought they were getting a new addition. How'd they get around it with Eugene Wilson?

Here's a nice profile on Patrick Chung...
Among the draft's best intangibles at any position. He'll be a standout on ST as a rookie. Ease him into the packages while he develops. The kind of player you would want on the field -- not on the bench. He certainly has some nice characteristics. I don't know if he has enough coverage range.
Here's a nice profile on Patrick Chung (among others) from a Jacksonville site:

Chung has some value added with his special teams play and returns. Since I'd slot Meriweather at FS, Chung wouldn't need as much range at SS as long as he can cover reasonably well in the short area. More importantly I want to know if he can bring the lumber.
