It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I hate that they cut to commercial, so we were deprived of what the training staff was doing to him - does anyone who was at the game know if they performed the ACL test on him on the field? It didn't look like it to me. Knock on wood, but I'm thinking worst case is an MCL injury, which doesn't keep him out long. They were looking at the inside of his knee when he was on the field - and that would be consistent with MCL, not an ACL injury.
Mayo's injury looked like right knee hyperextension when engaged with Bills O-lineman. Didn't look terrible.

For what it's worth, here's Peter King's take:

Play next week against the Jets? I missed the first quarter of the game, but if he was limping into the locker room with a "knee injury" and never returned to the game, why is there any reason to think he'll play next week? I mean, I"m not saying that it's a guarantee that he'll be put on IR, or miss a couple months, but there's also no reason to say he definitely won't.
Perhaps i'm just sensitive to the whole Brady injury, but knee injuries can be sensitive things.
Is there any reason at all to be optimistic about Mayo playing in the next few weeks? How did he look when he was limping to the locker room? How long was he treated on the field by the staff? What was the facial expression? I missed the first quarter so if anyoen could help me out here it would be great!
Maybe my lip reading needs work, but did anyone else see BB spout "Damn", in one of the camera closeups, when he saw Mayo was injured? I think Patriots Nation was collectively thinking that as well.
I never once saw him go into the locker room. As far as I saw, he remained on the sidelines throughout the night. I could be wrong though...
WEEI's 'the big show' just said that from everything they have been hearing (none of it from the pats) that it's probably going to be 6 weeks. That sucks, but it's better than the season.
He was on his back for a long time on the field as trainers did the usual "knee-flex" test. Then he went to the bench where they checked him out some more, and shortly after escorted him to the locker room. He walked under his own power, but then, so did Brady last year. He didn't return to the sideline. My guess is it's serious enough to keep him out at least a while

Yeah, that sucks real bad. At least they can plan for however many games it is going in as opposed to expecting him to play but we're already very thin there. Seau said he had 6 games in him, I don't think he meant these 6 games thoughWow that sucks

Thanks for the info. If they did the knee test and he went to he bench before going to the locker room, that suggests he passed the ACL test at least. Brady failed the knee test on the field and they took him off to the locker room b/c they knew his season was done at that point and needed the MRI to confirm.
I passed the ACL test twice by 2 diff doctors ..... then MRI and my ACL was blown to bits and meniscus damage. but Mayo's injury did not look terrible.... I would say sprained MCL
