Yeah. Sure. How dare we come to a football forum and discuss the impact on the team that our team's best (healthy) receiving threat is now gone.
Shocked that the Patriots released him before charges, trial or sentencing. I chafe at the notion that someone faces ramifications for something which they have yet to be found guilty.
They must know something we don't know. The comments by Patriots Security Director to Bedard imply as much.
And that's that, I no longer care what happens to Aaron Hernandez.
I'm not saying it's right, but the Ravens set a precedent in the NFL about how this type of situation is handled. And we just did the opposite. That's not going to sit well with folks who think they did the right thing, especially since Hernandez STILL doesn't look as guilty as Ray Lewis (yet.) He might by the end of it, but at this point the charges aren't even out there.
My kneejerk reaction was that they released him too soon, but then I realized that I've always hated the NFL and the Ravens for glorifying Ray Lewis. So in the interest of not being a hypocrite, I revised my opinion after 5 minutes of thought.
If the police have this right, Hernandez is an idiot. He couldn't have screwed this up much more if he tried.
I am writing this after the charges became public, but when I heard the Pats released him as soon as he was arrested, I assumed that they had some insider info and they knew that it was going to be a murder charge, or that the obstruction evidence was really strong, and they just wanted to cut ties. Otherwise they would have waited. Who knows, but the Pats did the right thing either way.
An idiot with a huge amount of hubris to think he wouldn't get caught...
Reading this story ... Coach must be so disappointed.

Then feel free to have that conversation. There are plenty of forums and boards where people talk about current events and high profile crimes and I recommend you go there. We're just going to have to disagree on that.
Some things are more important than football. Death and murder, are, for me, among them. There will be time later to discuss the Offense and what this might or might not mean or have meant for it.

"@WesleyLowery: To be clear: DA's saying Aaron Hernandez shot Lloyd three times right after Lloyd got out of the car. Then stood over him & put two in his chest."
So, that Jake Ballard move last summer looks pretty brillant right now, ironically, I almost ordered a Hernandez jersey two weeks ago...
i saw this
that is some hardcore stuff right there....
the pats made a good move releasing if they feel he's guilty
better now than later
Oh that's right. That violent upbringing on the mean streets of Bristol, CT must have led to this. I mean how can anyone grow up normally after witnessing that carnage every day?
Hernandez is an idiot, and it looks like a violent idiot at that. Marijuana, alcohol, strippers and friends are well beside the point.

my point was he loved the lifestyle of a thug more than he loved playing professional football and being free.
I stand by my point.
For those who said he'd played his last game as a Patriot, you were right. I still disagree with your kneejerk, emotional mentality, but you were right. Enjoy your day in the sun.
What a waste of talent. Right move by the organization.
