Pats Board Mock Draft thread

the CB Jalen Collins would be my pick.

Humphries the OT and Erving the OL would be 2 and 3.

Very unrealistic - the Pats would never waste the #6 pick on Shelton. :D

Trade it to Cleveland for #12 and #19, then take Todd Gurley and Marcus Peters, and add a DT at 32, Hypothetically speaking, of course.
Don't think Cleveland would give us 2 top 20 picks for the #6 pick. You could trade it for #12, #43 and #78.

So who would you take if we had-

#12
#43
#64
#78
#96
#97
#102
#132
#178
#224

LOL if this happened I would almost be tempted to wait on CB.

Only 2 off the board.

I'll go Jalen Collins too though. Hope he lives up to his gifts.

5) Cameron Erving OL FSU

3) DJ Humphries OL Fla

1) PJ Williams CB FSU

Last year we had people list their top 3 choices. 5 points for 1st, 3 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd. That worked fairly well. I would suggest doing it again.

TJ Clemmings is also still on the board, BTW. We're in good shape at OL (Clemmings, Erving, Humphries, Fisher) and CB (Collins, Jones, Johnson, PJ Williams, Quentin Rollins). I would take back given those options, but that's not an option in this mock.

I'll take Collins. Marpet is my LG in 2015.

Changed it to reflect Mayo's suggestion of 5-3-1 rating

I agree that Marpet is my LG. But I'll go by BPA:

1. TJ Clemmings, OL, Pittsburgh (5 points)
2. Jalen Collins, CB, LSU (3 points)
3. Byron Jones, CB, Connecticut (1 point)

It's a toss-up between Collins and Jones right now. I could easily call them 2a and 2b and give them 2 points each, if that were allowed. But Clemmings could be a stud at either guard or tackle, and there are still a lot of good CBs on the board.

Jalen Collins is my pick too. Big, lanky corner who ran a 4.4. Played in SEC. Even though not a lot of game experience. What he had was against good competition. Then Clemmings 2nd and Erving 3rd.

Jalen Collins (5)
Byron Jones (3)
TJ Clemmings (1)

Byron Jones (5)
Ronald Darby (3)
Jake Fisher (1)

Jalen Collins (5)
Byron Jones (3)
TJ Clemmings (1)

Very disappointing to see Collins picked over Jones or Johnson. Oh well.

What's wrong with Collins?

Lack of experience. And Jones is the best CB in the draft to my mind anyway. It's just disappointing that not many share that view, It's not a criticism of those holding that view.

Looks quick enough on tape and his projected speed is sub 4.5 which is all that is needed but we shall have to wait until his pro day for that.

Does Jones have enough speed and doesn't he have a lack of experience at corner too?

What's your vote?

I could be convinced to put Jones ahead of Collins. The lack of experience is a valid concern. I have both well behind Peters, personally, and behind TJ Clemmings as an overall prospect.

Jalen Collins (LSU- CB) had his foot operated on this past Thursday by Dr. Bob Anderson in North Carolina. Should be ready for mini camp.

As per Gil brants twitter.
