Hope all is well with GRONK

The New England Patriots signed TE Carson Butler to the practice squad today.
Butler, 22, spent the majority of the 2010 season on the New England practice squad and went to camp with the team this past summer before being released on Sept. 2, 2011. Butler, 6-4, 260 pounds, originally was signed by the Green Bay Packers as a rookie free agent out of Michigan in 2009. He was waived by Green Bay in late July and signed by the Detroit Lions in early August. After being waived by Detroit prior to the start of the 2009 regular season, he spent parts of the year on the practice squads of San Francisco and Cincinnati. Butler signed with the New York Giants in January of 2010 but was waived in June. He originally was signed by the Patriots on Aug. 2, 2010.

I'm sure this is just done so the team has a "fill in" for practice while Gronk rests his ankle. He'll be fine.

The master plan unveiled.

Belichick the master already playing evil mind games with Coughlin :snob:

I think it is more to do with taking over Dorin ****erson's spot. ****erson was a TE on the practice squad that was just placed on IR. The team needs another TE for the scout team for practices.

****erson and now Butler are there primarily for that reason, and also to be on hand in case of emergency - no different than at any other time during the previous five months.

Bottom line is Butler is taking over ****erson's spot, not Gronkowski's.

But we must wring our hands and worry about everything. Hopefully he'll be 100%, but still, this is probably the most worrisome postseason non-Tom Brady Patriots injury ever.
