OT: NFL non-Patriots cuts

Any chance RB James Davis is cut by the Browns? This would be an intrigueing option. I know Mangini has been down on him, but with the Hardesty injury he'll probably stick.

Re: NFL non-Patriots cuts

Wow.. a lot of people were very high on Barnes at draft time.

Bears have also cut:

FS Al Afalava
CB Cornelius Brown
LB Kelvin Smith
LB Kevin Malast
ST Tim Shaw

Re: NFL non-Patriots cuts

Bears will waive WR Freddie Barnes

He was my draft day 7th round binkie.:(

I think that the Bears will offer him a practice squad spot. Somebody will anyway, and the Bears are his hometown team. He didn't get much playing time, if at all, in preseason.

The Steelers have joined in the bloodletting:

tight end Eugene Bright
guard Dorian Brooks
tackle Kyle Jolly
receiver Brandon London
tight end Sean McHugh
defensive tackle Scott Paxson
long snapper Matt Stewart
safety Justin Thornton
running back Justin Vincent
linebacker Renauld Williams.

They've got another dozen moves to make....

Dallas have traded OL Pat McQuistan to Miami, according to Schefter.

Congrats to Dallas for getting draft picks for their cuts.

Well I doubt they would have cut Crayton; just seems strange they only got a 7th, unless he only has a year left?

Crayton really isn't very good. He drops a lot of passes, and whines a lot. He's a homeless man's T.O.

The cuts to watch for will be those of the Vikings. There will be a couple of hard hitting and aggressive LB and DL cut.

Plus I can see BB playing with Childress because of Mills.

Oh, I like THAT talk.

I have rooted for the Vikings ~ my #3 ~ since I first discovered this Great Game as a child...Until NOW.

Childress is a bitter, venomous, vile lump of feces, and his QuarterBack is SEWAGE.

I wish them the very worst.

Re: NFL non-Patriots cuts

Monty Beisel cut by Arizona

Why can't WE get players like that?? :D

Of ALL the errors I've made, ere the years ~ and there've been PLENTY!! ~ FEW were as spectacular as the high expectations I accorded to THAT move!!

Re: NFL non-Patriots cuts

In related news ,I cut myself shaving this morning...

I cut myself SO badly, this morning, that my eyes actually cleared up!! :D

*SHAMELESSLY pilfered from The Great One ~ I refer, of course, to Paul Newman ~ from The Verdict, one of the most astonishingly great movies of ALL Time.

Re: NFL non-Patriots cuts

It's not a cut, but Schefter reporting the 'Cardinals have traded guard Reggie Wells to Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 6th-round pick.'

I really like this move for Philly, which I actually consider a serious candidate for The Final Four.

Will depend alot on Kolb, and how well he plays.

Wow.. a lot of people were very high on Barnes at draft time.

Sure, we were high on him, but as UFA: a guy with all the talent of Shrek, who caught 846 passes, last year.

Basically, a guy with no talent who Makes Things Happen.

And, no, I do NOT have the vocabulary to express how much I would love to see us GRAB him!! Rudy!! Rudy!! Rudy!!

And then we can have Brady throw 50 times a game to satisfy all his receivers! :singing:
