OT: Miami might screw themselves out of Green's services

You are wrong. Damon Huard was good there... they gave up on him for no good reason at all.

Actually, I am right.

Huard is not the QB that Green has been through out his career, not even close. And he filled in for a few games and was gone. I was talking about guys that were chosen to carry the Dolphins franchise. You do remember that Kansas City had a pretty good offense, and that Green was pretty good at his job?

I think there is a very good chance Green is done, but if he has anything left in the tank, I don't want to have to deal with him. I'd much prefer Bumblepepper.

NO... Green was good when he was a Ram (until he met Mr. Rodney Harrison).

He is a complete shell of what he EVER was before.

Trust me...

Guess you didn't watch many Chiefs games. He clearly was a good enough QB. The chiefs never had a defense.

He probably is washed up, but he is worth a fifth round pick to a team with nothing but another washed up QB.

I think Miami might have been better off drafting Quinn than Ginn, of course.

I would trust Green in a big game long before Culpepper. And if Culpepper lasts through the first half of the season, I hope they don't have another vet in the wings to take over if Pepper goes down. I'd rather it be a Lemon. :D

Yeah, he was 5-1 as a starter with the Dolphins. So they cut him.

If you look at it, the franchise hasn't had a decent QB since they let him go, and have had a merry-go-round of QBs in and out the door, spending money and draft picks on a laundry list of guys, none of whom matched Huard's success.

Call me silly, but when your backup steps in and goes 5-1, doesn't that tell you ANYTHING?

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy the Fins cut damon Huard. They would have been a much better team over the years with him instead of Fieldler, Lucas, Rosenfels, Brian Griese, Feeley, , Ferrotte, Lemon, Culpepper, and Harrington.

Did you happen to notice last year that Green had 7 TDs and 9 INTs, and Huard had 11 TDs and 1 INT?

That has nothing to do with KC's defense. It has to do with the quality of the QB.

Actually it had to do with the QB, head coach/play calling, quality of WRs, aging of the O-Line, ect. Whether Huard is better at this point in his career than Green is clearly not the issue, because Miami isn't getting Huard back.

I will compare Green's overall career to Huard's any day. Huard was a back-up in Miami, not a 'starter', who came in as a injury replacement, and didn't impress the Miami staff nearly as much as he impressed you, I would say. Perhaps they felt the defense had something to do with the wins, or something else beyond Huard. Just like with the Pats, when he was passed over by Brady based on preseason results, even though Huard had clear NFL experience. Apparently, Huard never really set the world on fire.

Green doesn't need to be the savior for Miami, he just would be a good candidate to ride the bench until Pepper fumbles once too many, or has his third season ending knee injury.

The simple equation is that Culpepper/Green is probably better than Culpepper/Lemon. Green doesn't need to play more than a back up role to help Miami out. He clearly would be capable of that much, if he is healthy enough.

I fear that Miami might have a decent chance at a playoff berth if Green gets starting QB there...I think he is still good enough to get the job done and could see him still pass for 3,000 + yardage with that offense, even at 37.

I just think that Miami NEEDS a back up QB.

Who else is on the market that clearly outshines Green's resume?

Miami blows high round draft picks like they are going out of style, on Ginns and not Quinns. But they get really tight with their fifth rounder.

I like it! :D
