No, they're expected. But the expected doesn't always happen. When Moss' name is on a contract I'll be relived (contract with us, that is :rocker.Actually, I don't think either of these moves are shocking. Neither would Asante to New Orleans.
Man, I sure hope that you are right. I've heard enough bad news around here lately.
If this is true 3/30 seems out of character for the Pats. Usually they'll give a top player a slightly less than peak deal. I was expecting more like 3/21-24.
Adalius did get more guaranted money a year ago.
I'm ok with $10 million for Randy in this market but that signing bonus is ridiculously high. They won't be able to cut him.
In his 3rd year, he'll be earning $6 million but the bonus charge will be $4 million, if not worse (if they stagger the payments).
That means they'll still be on the hook for $4 or 5 million in 3 years whether he's on the team or not.
I would have preferred a smaller bonus so that his 3rd year would be a PROVE IT year.
Of course this is a rumor so maybe I should shut up.
deal is going to be for 3 years, $30 million with $13 million guaranteed.
Also, Lance Briggs will be the first major player changing teams. He's going to the 49ers.
This from a source who owns a concierge service for athletes and their agents. Let's wait and see.
I hope those #s are wrong. That's $10M more over 3 years than what I would do.
This roster has serious issues at LB and esp. CB. Having a $10M/year WR is a luxury this team cannot afford, and doesn't need.
I would have preferred a smaller bonus so that his 3rd year would be a PROVE IT year.
Briggs, Willis, and Lawson on the same LB core is sick. Now if they could just overhaul the rest of the team they may make the playoffs.
playoff.? No way. 19-0 is the only way to go.:rocker:
Look for the NY Jets to complete a monster deal with FA Alan Faneca.
$20M in guaranteed money is what I was told.
