Apologies if there is already a Schofield thread somewhere...
I haven't been paying too much attention to Schofield since I didn't see him projecting well to OLB or even situational 4-3 rush end for the Pats. However, a thought occurred today. Schofield is around 6'2", 245lbs. Played as an undersized DE but was very productive in sacks and tackles for loss for a major program in a major conference. Showed up big in big games. Fast, high-motor guy. Projected to be a 3rd-4th round pick.
Remind you of anyone?
Sounds a lot like Bruschi coming out of Arizona.
Don't know about Schofield's smarts (major consideration) but could the Pats take Schofield to start out as a ST/situational guy but eventually become an inside guy that can move all over the field and do everything? I haven't wrapped my mind around this concept yet but I have to admit I find the possibility interesting. Anyone have a better read on Schofield?
