NFLdraftcountdown has a new 2 round mock out. The link is:
Draft Countdown - 2009 NFL Mock Draft
Not my favorite picks for the Pats:
1(23) James Laurinaitis, ILB, Ohio St. Could have had DJ Moore, Alphonso Smith, Sean Smith, Knowshown Moreno, Percy Harvin, Clint Sintim, or Eben Britton.
2(47) Jarius Byrd, CB, Oregon. Could have had LeSean McCoy, Darius Butler, Louis Delmas or Patrick Chung
2(58) Troy Kropog, OT, Tulane. Could have had Eric Wood or Connor Barwin.
Some interesting picks:
- Jesters taking Tyson Jackson at #17.
- Bears taking Larry English at #18. Seems way too high to me.
- Josh Freeman going #22 to Minnesota. Can't imagine why they wouldn't rather trade it for Cassel. Then again, they're stupid, so maybe I can imagine it. Freeman is nowhere near NFL-ready.
- Chris Wells lasting to #21 and going to Philadelphia (ahead of Brandon Pettigrew and Eben Britton, who they at least take at #28).
- Clay Matthews going #25 to the Tunaphins.
- Alphonso Smith going #26 to Baltimore. Great CB, but not the typical big CB that Baltimore tends to covet.
- Percy Harvin going #27 to Indy. Ouch. Wouldn't want to see what he could do in Indy's offense.
