NEM if what you say about McDaniels is correct then...

So, why was he interviewed? Was it for groundskeeper?
Do people go on interviews to a place where there is no coaching job available?

When he was interviewed there was a position available. When he was available for hire, there was no position available.

You're done old man.

Weis's 2003 offense was worse than this one with arguably more talent. That is a fact. It isn't a matter of opinion. All the numbers support it too. The 2003 offense was wildly inconsistent even with Branch, Givens, and Patten as our to three WRs.

Here is a comparison:

PPG
2006: 22.9
2003: 22.8

YPG
2006: 328.3
2003: 314.9

Passing TDs
2006: 22 (with two games to go)
2003: 23

Rushing TDs
2006: 15 (with two games to go)
2003: 9

Total Offensive TDs
2006: 37 (with two games to go)
2003: 32

Total First Downs
2006: 289 (with two games to go)
2003: 294

Third Down Conversion Percentage
2006: 42.3%
2003: 37%

Fourth Down Conversion Percentage
2006: 78.9%
2003: 42.9%

# of games where the offense scored 14 points or less
2006: 3
2003: 6

# of games where the offense scored 10 points or less
2006: 2
2003: 4

# of games without an offensive TD
2006: 1
2003: 3

People have this warped view of Weis vs. McDaniels. McDaniels gets far too much crap and Weis gets too much praise. The fact is this offense this year could win a Super Bowl with the 23 defense. The only where we did better in 2003 than 2006 is turnovers where we had 23 turnovers in 2003 and 27 this year. So we turned the ball over a lot in 2003 too. I don't blame either Weis or McDaniels for fumbles though.

Stats are nice and all, but looking back on 2003 we were very much a 1 dimensional team. We had Antowain Smith at RB which we all knew then that he was a stiff. We ended up running Mike Cloud for several games and he didn't even know a 10th of the playbook. We threw the ball with success due to Brady's burning desire to win.

We also had an offensive line that was horrible at run-blocking. This years line is a thousand times better at every phase of blocking. Even the young guys are playing well.

This years team can run and throw. But Josh has not balanced that well or utilized it the way it should have been. Josh's biggest screw up came when he gave up on the running game against Indianapolis when everyone watching TV that night knew that pretty much gave the Colts the game. His playcalling in the Denver game was horrible. We played right into Shanahan's hands. Josh is doing better, but I look back on those 2 losses and blame Josh.

We should have a #1 or #2 seed with the talent on this team. We were handed one of the easiest schedules we've had in years. If we make it back to the SB, we will have to win the AFC championship on the road.

Let me say this AGAIN. If they wanted him, they would have, and could have, waited a couple of weeks. It was JANUARY, not JUNE.

You really need to go back and read what you are posting. It is totally illogical.

FACT IS, and I will repeat it again..THERE WERE NO HEAD COACHING POSITIONS AVAILABLE WHEN CHARLIE WEIS WAS AVAILABLE FOR HIRE.

THAT IS FACT, FACT, FACT.

You are grasping at allkinds of straws here..fact is, THERE WERE NO HEAD COACHING POSITIONS IN THE NFL AVAILABLE WHEN HE WAS AVAILABLE FOR HIRE.

If you disagree with that,, then say so. Otherwise, you arent even
close to reality.

Teams can interview during the bye week. ala romeo crennel
