i feel that over the years, the patriots front office hasnt specialized in drafting CBs or WRs. We have done a real good job drafting other positions though. i would rather us sign FA CBs and WRs and stick to our specialty of drafting OL, DL, LBs

    #54 Jersey

Swap Smith for Moore, and I love that.

Nice draft, even though I don't think we'll use all three 2nd rounders.

I also wouldn't mind Cushing over Matthews, Smith over Moore or Delmas over Chung. The Moala pick will be very important if we lose Mike Wright to free agency.

With the draft the way they have it unfolding I go:

    23 - Connor Barwin, OLB
    34 - Alphonso Smith, CB
    47 - Louis Delmas, S
    58 - Clint Sintim, ILB

Their picks are all reasonable, but I like each of those 4 better better than who they picked at the same number (assuming we use all 4 picks).

IMHO, that would be a very solid draft.

I think this one is close, but I'd agree with the crowd, Smith over Moore.

I've mostly been reading up on DB's so I'll have to trust y'all on LB's (especially DE converts).

Actually, looking at their draft again, I would like even better:

    23 - Sean Smith, CB/S
    34 - Connor Barwin, OLB
    47 - Louis Delmas, S
    58 - Clint Sintim, ILB

But I'm sure a lot of people would prefer Alphonso Smith.

I like both your drafts a lot, but would make one small change to this one.

    23 - Sean Smith CB/S
    34 - Connor Barwin, OLB
    47 - Darius Butler, CB
    58 - Clint Sintim, ILB

That's not unreasonable. Not sure I'd do it, but it's definitely not unreasonable.

It's not a bad draft. At least they seem to understand the Pats positional needs.

The more I think about it, I see Malcolm Jenkins fall to us at 23. Then Alex Mack at 34, Clint Sintim at 47. Is Kevin Ogletree at 58 too soon?

Assuming no additions before the draft (depressing assumption to say the least)

    23. Mathews- would rather have Harvin or Nicks here, but the pass rush need on this team is too great

    34. Tyson Jackson- both 3-4 DE's are gone by 47, so the Pats have to take one here or miss out. I think they go with the big school guy. Gilbert and Britt are tempting

    47. Louis Delmas- the safety run happens here as all go before our last 2nd rounder

    58. Jamon Meredith OT/OG South Carolina- Not listed in the first two rounds. If the Patriots actually make 4 picks in the first 2 rounds, I think they will take a player for each of the lines.

If the pass rush need is so great, why Matthews with his 4 sacks?

    #75 Jersey

It's a bit unconventional, but right now I would go:

    23. Alphonso Smith
    34. Darius Heyward-Bey
    47. Patrick Chung
    58. Clint Sintim.

However, I have to redo my board in the wake of the FA signings and losses.

I think we could do better @ #34, but I agree on #23. It seems to depend how things shake out at OLB.

No Robiskie in their mock--I doubt he'll make it to round #3.

    BINGO! ;)

Although I think Butler could have worked himself into the late part of the 1st round.

Thats not bad......I am really intrigued by Heyward-Bey in the WR group. With Moss and Welker drawing so much attention you would think you would really be able to exploit Heward-Bey's speed.
