McNally and Jastremski sue the NFL?

Not sure but to me couldn't Kraft claim he suspended based on the NELs statements, evidence, comments, and he was deceived by the fact that NFL defamed him?

My point is -- why would the Patriots have relied on the report for their decision? What information (incorrect or otherwise) would they have found in it that they didn't also have from other sources?

I just read the Wells Report from pages 48-60. Those pages really aren't very nice, by the way.

Jastremski might sue, but McNally would have a harder time.

When he went into the bathroom, he said he used the urinal to the right. That bathroom doesn't have a urinal.

Those pages are pretty damning to McNally - he's usually in the Officials' Locker Room alone with the balls for about 20 minutes, but this day, the place was crowded (by the way, that might have made the place even warmer).

This day he takes the balls without permission and goes into a bathroom with the balls to use a urinal that's not in there?

it's mind-boggling that Anderson's crew lost the balls that day, and of course, that was the day of the delay...and it's mind-boggling that Anderson didn't do a quick check on the ball PSI out on the field after having lost track of them after being warned to be on the lookout for exactly that kind of thing.

What kind of bathroom doesn't have a urinal? Could the guy have confused toilet and urinal?

no..a urinal CAN mean just that..a stall where you take a squizz. We're gonna suspend Brady by parsing the meaning of urinal? THIS is exactly what the fundamental flaw is in Wells' entire dog and pony show report. Black means white and down means up your azz, depending on where you squat and fart.

Well here's the thing about McNally, and all this talk about him 'changing his story' or outright lying. He doesn't strike me as the brightest bulb in the ocean. Look at the texts. He's a 48-year-old working part-time for the Pats. This might be me projecting negatively but...those texts.

The first interview came what, 5 days, a week after the game? Maybe more? I give the guy a little bit of a pass on some of the recollection stuff. Beyond that, Wells doesn't take him at his word that the officials locker room was packed so he wanted to give those guys some space. Add in the delay for the game (with the NFCCG running late), and a crowded and confusing scene and why wouldn't he have walked out with the balls himself? Additionally the two security guards who work the tunnel at Pats games said they routinely see McNally walk the balls to the field unescorted.

There's a lot of jumping to conclusions and believing certain stories (the officials saying they always escort the balls to the field) but not others (Anderson saying he used the non-logo gauge) that leads me to believe that a lot of this was cherry picking to get the conclusion they were after.

I don't know - read those pages (takes just a few minutes). he could have confused it, sure - I imagine being questioned in this was nerve-wracking for him whether he did anything or not.

There are several urinels in the bathroom in the Officials' Locker Room, but McNally said those were crowded and he didn't want to bounce around in them with two bags of balls, basically, and that's very believable.

Also, the discrepancies about whether or not he sometimes/half-the-time went to the field with the balls without an official beside him is murky at best, and to my sense, the refs were doing some butt-covering in the way they answered things.

Not disagreeing and I just posted about the confusion of him going to the field with the balls and no official.

There is DEFINATLY a ton of cherry-picking going on.

I don't get this. He was obviously in that bathroom and has been working there for many years. Are they saying he's not familiar with that bathroom? Isn't it more likely that "urinal" was just a poor choice of words? Wells is just critiquing every single word searching for anything to use as guilt.

Oooh, he said urinal instead of toilet, GUILTY... f'ing witch hunt.

That would cost them both money they probably don't have unless someone does it pro bono. David v. Goliath.
Kick starter! Hopefully Kraft and Brady donate too.

I've been reading the report over in bits and pieces and I have seen NOTHING connecting any of this to Brady other than his apparent anger at Jastremski after the Jets game and the absurd, out-of-context and clearly incomplete chatter between JM and JJ..

Nothing. I have no doubt that Brady gets his suspension overturned, or that he would win a massive defamation lawsuit.

Yeah, I feel like people are missing a major, major point wrt the bathroom: he was IN there, it's not like Wells is accusing him of not going in the bathroom. It's a small room. He's been working there since Gillette opened, people think him screwing up urinal vs. toilet or where the friggin thing is in the room is proof of anything?!? I mean come on.

The report as it relates to the texts and the game-day movements of McNally are why people hate lawyers...parsing words and meanings and movements to fit a narrative; 'catching' someone at a lie when it's a case of misremembering a minor detail from days ago; conflating texts and words and choosing what to believe and what not. Again, all to fit a narrative. If McNally was right about the toilet he may have been wrong about what side the light switch was on...who gives a flying **** when the BALL PSI DATA LINES UP!

Cripes, I'm surprised they didn't dust his Johnson for fingerprints.

Unfortunately, Jastremski probably dug himself into a hole with too many false statements to the investigators. And McNally has too many NFL officials claiming that what he said is untrue, as well as his boorish, vaguely threatening texts.

So probably either of them would have a real problem with winning a defamation case.

I want to see them deposed in a court of law, on the record. What EXACTLY do the two of them know?

solves every question raised by the Wells "report"

If they need money, they could sell their stories to TMZ. Wouldn't surprise me to see that happen down the road.

You're not the only one. I have to think that both Brady and Kraft want to know as well. Because if any lawsuit does happen, McNally is going to end up on the stand, under oath.

Frankly, one of my big worries is that one of these two (especially McNally) decides he wants some fame/$$$ and goes to TMZ or wherever and ignites a s**tstorm.
