I heard Dale Arnold bring this up on his show today. Both those guys could go after the NFL and have a much lower standard of proof of defamation than Brady, Kraft, or the Pats because they are not public figures. Since they are private individuals, they do not have to prove malicious intent.
It would be their lawsuit that could hurt the NFL more than any potential lawsuit. It would be far harder for the NFL to get a suit from them thrown out on summary judgement.
