I wonder if this will change the way the Pats deploy their D-line with the possibility of putting Vince over Ferguson. I would think they'll still put him over Mangold but odds are the Jets aren't going to run to their right as much given this injury.

According to Football Outsiders, the NYJ do quite well running on the right side. They are ranked #4 running over RT. Also excel at running over Ferguson.

Could hurt.

Not a big Woody fan, but that has to hurt. He's strong and athletic and most teams don't have comparable backups (though I have no idea about the Rats).

as a jets fan i had some confidence for this game(every fan should)

but sanchez basically has cartilage hanging off his shoulder, he was getting smashed all game by the colts after he threw the ball, and now the oline is ****ed upp.

This could be the end for Woody. He's 33 years old and an Achilles issue is hard enough to come back from for normal players. It's going to be extremely more difficult for someone who has the weight issues that Woody does...

I hate when players get injured.. Having had a torn ACL, I cringe whenever I see a guy get hurt and never want anyone to have to go through that pain. Regardless of how much I despise them as a person..

Don't know much about him other than he played when Woody was out. Seems like a serviceable vet.

Certainly won't be a rookie who will get deer in the headlights with Wilfork hovering over him...

1st injury was MCL in late Nov.

This is a Achillies injury.

The PC thing is to say "too bad, I want to beat the Jets at full strength."

My view is that this is great. Woody is an asset and the Jets task just got taller.

I know, I know, not very sporting of me, and my screen name is DarrylStingley for goodness sakes.

But I'm not rooting for him to get a disease or paralyzed or some such thing. And I'm sure he's a fine fellow.

But d%#*!@t, I want the Pats to win at all costs, and there's not going to be any freaking asterisk next to the win if Damien Woody is on the damn sidelines.

Enjoy the view, Damien. Ask Peyton to pass you some popcorn, son.
