Is this the worst FA period for the Pats in the last 10 Years?

You're looking at each position as if it's in a vacuum which isn't the case. All these positions are synergistic. A great secondary makes your LB corps and DL stronger, and a poor secondary does the opposite. You say we have no real issues outside of the secondary, but you're evaluating the performance of the rest of the defensive groups through the eyes of a team with an elite secondary.

Wow man...

The game of football is won and lost from the inside out, not the outside in. This is not my belief, it's the belief and teachings of countless hall of fame coaches and GM that have won superbowls.

A dominant front 7 could make a bunch of jags in the secondary look like they're all pro.. our front 7 is great, and could potentially get better through the draft. . We have an elite safety, an elite slot corner and a bunch of solid #2 CBs.. we just don't have that elite, big name shut down corner.. which is the same situation as like 27 other teams in the league.

I read a crazy article yesterday that blew my mind.. the green bay Packers only have ONE person on their roster that they didn't draft themselves, and that person Is Julius Peppers.. unbelievable when you stop for a moment and think about that.. they've been a contender for a long time and won a SB.. they also have pretty garbage play in their secondary but have a strong front 7

Not only is this not the worst FA period of the last ten years, it's the best. This is the only one that followed a SB win via the greatest play in NFL history.

The only thing the Pats could do to make this time the worst anything would be to dump Belichick and bring in Rex Ryan, and that isn't happening.
