I understand that better protection helps, but I don’t think that in any way will turn them into a true playoff team, whereas a big upgrade at WR would impact the entire receiving corps. And honestly not locked in on any one option, I just think a significant move at WR is the best route to contending. I’m fine with a bunch of different options, and if they traded for Jeudy and drafted Bijan Robinson #14 I would be very happy with it, Whatever it takes to have a great offense is fine with me.A better OL means more time in the pocket. More time in the pocket means more time for routes to develop. Add in the delay/LB freeze due to a very good running game / play action. The result should be an improvement in the passing game with the current corps.
More then any other position...I am am a huge fan of securing the trenches on both sides of the ball but I don't see upgrades for the o-line in FA or for a trade. That is probably going to happen in the draft. Therefor I am all in for upgrading at WR with a trade.I understand that better protection helps, but I don’t think that in any way will turn them into a true playoff team, whereas a big upgrade at WR would impact the entire receiving corps. Denver keeping jeudy perhaps
WR1 will have to come from draft
doesnt matter how good the WRs are if OL leaves QB fighting for his life before play can develop. This is why the idea of “taking the top off the defense” with a downfield threat is a specious concept. Have to win in trenches before you can have time to throw downfield.I understand that better protection helps, but I don’t think that in any way will turn them into a true playoff team, whereas a big upgrade at WR would impact the entire receiving corps. QB play greatly impacts protection and receivers greatly impact QB play. More receivers open and open quickly leads to fewer pressures. Has there been a single case of a good QB in a well coached team with weapons around him failing to produce offense due to bad OL play? Genuinely asking. I think that piece has become overestimated in team building. Coaching and WR talent seem to far more often impact a passing game than a lack of protection.doesnt matter how good the WRs are if OL leaves QB fighting for his life before play can develop. Joe Burrow has lost in the playoffs the last two years because of bad offensive line play.QB play greatly impacts protection and receivers greatly impact QB play. That doesn't answer my question. The Bengals offense was still incredibly prolific and the receiver they chose instead of picking a LT played a huge part in that. Burrow also routinely holds onto the ball and hunts big plays, especially on third down, which impacts protection. Would they be better with Slater at LT and a merely good WR in place of Chase? I don't think so.Joe Burrow has lost in the playoffs the last two years because of bad offensive line play.

Failing to produce offense, not failing to win a title or losing a game. The offense was highly productive. I'm not a moron, I'd never argue protection issues have never in the history of the sport caused an offense to sputter in a game, but the Bengals are a top tier NFL offense, even with their protection issues because they have good coaching, awesome receivers and an elite QB. To me those factors all individually matter more in 2023 than protection. Christ almighty dude."Has there been a single case of a good QB in a well coached team with weapons around him failing to produce offense due to bad OL play?"
Burrow was sacked 7 times in the Super Bowl in 2021, he was sacked 5 times in the AFC Championship game in 2022. The answer to your question is yes... I just provided two examples.

So by that thought process do you think that OL pass protection isn't really necessary to quantify and we should just focus on run blocking and bad pass protection won't affect a good QB with weaponsQB play greatly impacts protection and receivers greatly impact QB play. They lost in the postseason because the OLine sucked… I don’t need the song and dance.Failing to produce offense, not failing to win a title or losing a game. The offense was highly productive. Why would we be out on DHop??
Because in the history of Belichick, he does not go after a bunch of high end receivers in the offseason. He probably thinks the receiving corp was fine and got Ju ju to replace who left. Why people think Bill is going to do something he never does is odd to me.Why would we be out on DHop??
Juju will not be enough he's a very good complimentary piece but that's it.Because in the history of Belichick, he does not go after a bunch of high end receivers in the offseason.
