Too bad it wasn't a fine. He could've paid it off with his "credit card."

re: Haynesworth sentencing & league response (merged)

I guess they cut a deal. I'm sure all involved are glad this is over.

Re: Haynesworth - Impartial Jury?

Basically, he refuses to contest the charges and he is sentenced. This is a way to not admit guilt to the charges, but you do not desire to fight the charges against you.

Typically, it is used to not admit guilt for civil suit. I wonder if Haynesworth and the Pats checked with the league to see if pleading no contest would avoid additional discipline from the league. Typically an assault conviction carries at most an one game suspension. But Haynesworth has a history of suspensions (well one for stomping andre Guorade).

Glad its over and maybe he can finally see the field.

It ain't over until Roger "Jets" Goodell decides on punishment from the league

I doubt it is over for Haynesworth. Would not be shocked if he has a 6 game suspension reduced to 4.

re: Haynesworth sentencing & league response (merged)

I hope they're giving him a full year so that he can get that done in the offseason rather than needing to rack up a lot of those hours right away.

Damn, he will most likely miss that jets game if he is suspended.

Unfortunately he will likely be suspended now...

re: Haynesworth sentencing & league response (merged)

No way he gets suspended 4 games. That's what Roethlisberger got, and what he did was a hell of a lot worse. One or two at the most.

I'm sure he's already on the case

True, but at least he doesn't have to worry about going to jail.

I don't think it matters who he plays for, Goodell has been consistant in doling out punishment for the knuckleheads who get in trouble off the field. And I think it is a positive for the NFL.

I would not be shocked if he got the full 6 games for this incident. He still has the rode rage thing hanging over his head, if I am not mistaken - which could cost him more games. I'm sure this is a risk BB knew he was taking when he pulled the trigger on the trade.

160 hours of community service per Reiss/ABC.

Wonder if he will get community service hour credits for sacking and demolishing opposing teams QB during all home games?

re: Haynesworth sentencing & league response (merged)

I highly doubt he gets suspended for this. Guys have done much worse and not gotten anything.

Big Ben was never charged let a lone pled guilty.

Edit: He actually pleaded no contest.....
