I have heard all week on radio them trying to build up this game because Coughlin is in Brady's head and they always do well against the Pats because they aren't afraid of them.
In 2007-2011, the common theme with the Giants were they had a solid d-line that could pressure the QB with a four man rush no matter how bad the defense was. They usually hurt the Pats with the inside rush. This year's Giants' defense does not have a pass rush at all. Sure the Pats' o-line is in shambles, but the Giants' d-line sucks and they just lost their starting DT for the season. JPP looks like the only one who can rush the passer, but it could have been a first game that the other team didn't take him seriously with his hand.
Also different this year is Brady is different. He has a much faster release and is far more mobile in and out of the pocket. He isn't susceptible to the inside rush as he was in the past either.
I still think the Pats win this game by two TDs. I think people are building up the Giants into something they aren't just like they did with the Jets and Bills earlier in the season. The Giants are an average team with a bad defense. They cannot cover the TE for the life of them.
As long as its not in the superbowl, the previous two hurt more, more than the first two,Third, I like having a "kryptonite" over in the NFC. I remember back in the day Shanny was Belichick's kryptonite, when he was with Denver. If I gotta have a "kryptonite," give 'em to me every 4 years.
What did you end up punching?
and no, I don't believe they are...people are just hoping it is true. Truth is, in the games they've played, luck has favored the Giants (Patriot injuries, fumble recoveies, post season refs allowing penalties to slide...)much more than the Patriots and the Giants used to have good players
Will Beatty - T - Out#4 Well the injury side of Luck is certainly on their side. They come in the more healthy team than the Pats. As for ball bounces we will see. They tend to get turnovers though.
Will Beatty - T - Out
Larry Donnell - TE - Out
Prince Amukamara - CB - Out
Johnathan Hankins - DT - Out
Jon Beason - LB - Out
Daniel Fells - TE - Out
Victor Cruz - WR - Out
I'd say it's about even.

Here is why the Giants gave the Patriots trouble in the past and comparing those teams and situations to this ones.
#1 Coughlin is a good coach so your coaching edge is lessened a large amount
#2 Eli has always seemed to play his better games against us
#3 They had very good talent that elevated its game particularly against us and in the very big games
#4 Luck and injuries... Brady hurt, Gronk hurt, Big catches, big drops, They seem to get those ball bounces against us and (KEY!) take advantage of them
#5 They tend to start off games well against us. Generally they get a lead or keep us from jumping on them so we never have a chance to force the pace.
So lets look at which of these is the case and which is not.
#1 Yep. Coughlin is there and won't throw up all over himself
#2 Eli is playing well right now. I would expect him to play a good game against us.
The next 3 will be more in depth
#3 Looking back at these games we often underrated their talent and then it played and they play great. Ask yourself this question. Is there anyone on this roster who is capable of having a really great game on defense particularly? JPP? He can do well and definitely has talent but he has half a hand and even with our meh OT situation we should still be able to get in his way for 2 seconds on his best day. Generally I think if the Pats lose this game it will not be cause the NYG talent elevated as much as the Pats just had a ba game. I don't see them having the talent capable of being a top team even for 1 game.

#5 Can they get off to a fast start against the Patriots? It is possible. I could see them getting an early TO or a Beckham making a big catch. However I like the way this D is playing and the Patriots have been good about not allowing too many bad plays. That Redskins game will be helpful as the Pats made 2 key mistakes that might have taken 14 points off the board and almost allowed a pick 6. They will probably come in to this game more aware and susceptible to those big mistakes cause they just made them.
So yes. Some of those things which caused those loses to be possible are still there and have the potential to be there but some look to me to be missing this time around.
Gotta be honest there are 2 games against them that I wish we had won.
07 never goes away.
Quarterback and head coach are sort of important. They are the reason for our continued success despite all other changes in personnel. If both teams had different HC and QB, it would indeed be interesting for mainly historical reasons. I don't think it is BS or silly to focus: it is a rivalry that goes back to the season of our greatest disappointment, like it or not. And as long as there is continuity at those positions, this seems a valid storyline.
