They are usually believable but who the heck is this guy they have the Patriots taking in round 1?

I did some digging into Patriots draft history, and I was a little surprised to look over Bobby grier's drafts. He had a horrid draft in 1997, but otherwise, he didnt do too badly. Why do I remember him being awful? Look at this record:
1996
Terry Glenn
Lawyer Milloy
Tedy Bruschi
Christian Peter
1997
Brandon Mitchell
1998
Robert Edwards
Tebucky Jones
Greg Spires
1999
Damien Woody
Andy Katzenmoyer
Kevin Faulk
Sean Morey
So, not very good, but not awful either.
You recall him being terrible for a couple reasons:
1) 1996 is Bill Parcells, not Grier. That kills most of the positive argument right there.
2) Even in your list above, only one player could have been termed a "difference maker" and that is Woody. Edwards may have been good, so you can't hold that against Grier, but aside from Faulk the rest of the guys didn't do much. And that is with your positive light. Every other pick not mentioned was a complete whif, and with the Parcell's trade, there were a lot of them.
Grier was bad. Honestly, most here on this board could have done better just by picking the guys that they watched on TV.
I thought Parcells walked out of the room in a fit after the Glenn pick? I could swear i read that at the time.
Parcells wanted Duane Clemons or Bobby Gardner, I believe. Both were solid NFL players for a number of years, but Parcells was wrong in this case; Glenn was clearly the best pick.
Some of the mock drafts leave you scratching your head. I saw one that had us picking some tackle from Penn State in the first. I'm not saying another tackle wouldn't be a good thing but we have bigger needs and we have always been able to find great O linemen later in the draft.
If Levi is there at our first pick, It would be hard to pass up...

I wouldn't be shocked at any first round draft pick honestly. Even if it was a QB or kicker.
I believe he wanted DE Tony Brackens.
Marvin Harrison would have been even a better pick if the Pats absolutely wanted a WR. He's done well I hear.
