Furious...

What the F#&K? I'm p!ssed too. I've been stranded on a desert island for 10 years and I just got rescued today. Where the hell is Drew and Curtis? This sucks!

Ha, that is awesome!

No response to my earlier assertions, which isn't much of a surprise. And more ad hominem attacks, what's new? This board is just drowning in class. I'll leave the vultures to pick over the bones, since any sort of decent discussion is clearly out of the question.

I think the problem that many have is that there are many such "decent discussions" going on in about a dozen other threads right now, and not everyone is starting their own thread to make a simple point or express their feeling when it could be stated in one of those threads.

Richter, you have every right to be furious. They screwed up. You'll hear every justification imaginable as to why that wasn't the case, from they didn't want a first rounder anyway to they needed the cap room. But yeah, they screwed up. All they needed was to be patient. Oh well, it happens.

After a while you'll realize that they didn't loose all that much.

I was just LOL'ing to myself, thinking about that scene. ACURA CAKE!?!

Now, just plug in "2nd rounder" for Acura cake and "1st rounder" for Ferarri cake. Make the reasonable posters here the demons, "Hey, 2nd rounders are really good picks. Look at the team, they're better off"..."It's not about them! It's all about me!!"

Are you $@!#ing kidding me? Tell me this is a joke or something. And Pioli was the guy boning the Pats like this?

Richter, heal thy self.

Same here. They're actually the only reason I'm even reading this thread. :D

I'd like to thank BSR for the tip. I'm only up to page two and I'm laughing my ass off.

So they wait a while, KC pull their offer and decide to go with Sanchez, Detroit go with Stafford, the 49ers sign Warner, the Buccs decide Griese/Josh Johnson/Luke McCown are good enough, and Carolina sign Garcia. Now there's even less market for Cassel, the Pats have been unable to make any moves in free agency, and they still have the franchise tag cuffing them.

Not to mention they can't make the moves they want to make in FA because so much cap room is tied up in Cassel.

Joke's on Belichick, I guess?

So your position is that nobody would want Cassel for any price? Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night. Reality is that not all rosters are set in the first day of free agency.

May as well lay the rest of it on you and get it over with then:

  • Gaffney and Paxton are gone too.
  • The Pats used the freed-up cap money to re-sign Sanders.
  • All the spygate conspiracy theorists want Goodell to investigate BB for the trade.
  • The first writer to defend BB was Ron Borges.

dman dood... this is close to classic! :D

Why didn't you start your own thread? Afterall, you are furious.

Yea right...and get treated like a ewe at a Scottish bachelor party the same way Richter did?

Yes, I really meant for you to start your own thread. Back at you.

I think the position is, this was a good deal NOW versus gambling on uncertainty. Sure, BB could hold on to MC, wait it out for something better that might happen. Who knows, maybe we get something better. That apparently was uncertain though. In the meantime we have no wiggle room with player signings while we are waiting and hoping for something better. I'll use an analogy that was my own experience. My brother and my friend both were basking in the glow of their low subprime mortgage payments. I went with a 5 1/2 30 year fixed. It was the safe play for me. I paid more than them for a few years (I even questioned the wisdom of going with the fixed for a while). But the premise of the gamble was simple: take the safe play and be sure of what the payment was, or gamble with a lower payment that could ultimately significantly and negatively change. BB just opted for the loan with the 5 1/2 fixed for 30 years.

We know what we got for MC and it is clearly a net positive. If you are this upset about what it could have been, I am surprised you made in off the ledge after the Pats/Giants superbowl.

Yes, because clearly, starting a thread, apparently an act consuming massive resources and possible only in the cases of the most malignant narcissism, is so much worse of a transgression than posting a snarky picture that illustrates in no uncertain terms the contemptible nature that inhabits so many people. Why bother with painless apathy, dignified disagreement or even, heaven forbid, a modicum of empathy, when being a jackass is so much easier? Starting a thread on an already discussed subject from a slightly different perspective must rank up there with running Ponzi schemes, child pornography and acts of genocide, given the rabid response.

The bottom line is, when there are already 20 threads on this topic - there really is no need to start another to simply say you are furious....There were 1600 people on this site all weekend and if we all started our own threads to describe our personal feelings....things would get messy....

an ex pats GM and an ex pats OC were bending over backwards trying to get that 14.65 off of NE's cap

i won't be surprised if both pioli and mcdaniels are back in NE in a couple years

belichik = kaiser soze lol

Page # 1 and the last 2 were enough for me.. people need to do some serious meditation before they post.. we had a kick ass team, now we are a kick ass team with a boat load of draft picks and cap money...

People were delusional to think that the Pats would have wanted a top 5 pick in this draft.. that would have upset the salary structure of the team... if LT was available at #3 that would have made a difference.. but do not see a LT in this draft.
