File this under this guy is crazy and just making things up but I dont see why being smaller automatically equates to injury.
Clearly he is going to lose a lot of individual battles if strength becomes the determining factor but he should be able to use his quickness to help get his body in a good position to take hits. Wes does this all the time.
That part wasnt to crazy but now here we go. Might losing the battle of strength help him avoid some injuries. A guy that comes to mind is Ted Johnson and the 2 years he lost to bicep tears, here is one of the biggest strongest LBs I have seen and he tears muscles off the bone trying to make a tackle. Had this been a smaller guy he likely just gets bulled right over but Ted Johnson was so strong he held on just his tendons didnt.
This is sort of the Drunk Driver anology not sure if you guys have ever heard this or if there is any truth to it but I have heard in drunk driving accidents the sober people tend to get hurt worse then the drunk ones and the supposed reason for this being that the drunk guy is lose and may not even know the colision is coming while the sober guys sees it and tenses up.
Another anology might be with a brick wall compared to dry wall or something. if you ran right into the brickwall I would imagine there is muck more force involved in the contact then running into drywall as the drywall will give. This might not be a great anolgy because clearly the drywall would be damaged but if you used that Ivan Drago punch power testing machine I bet there would be significantly more force recorded.
OK flame on. I am bored at work and the only thing I can do other than post this BS is actual work so dont mind me.
