nice stat line (10 solo tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble,) but part of that might reflect him being "victimized," i.e., every play going his way because he could be had. I wasn't focused enough on the individuals, swept up in the emotion.
Ugh. The breakdown will be painful.

I thought it was because Colvin was out of the game. I think the announcers said something about him being ill with the flu, but I was watching in a sports bar and it was noisy and hard to hear. But he definitely wasn't on the field after the 2:00 warning of the first half. And Vrabel was out of there a lot of the time too.
OK, thanks. But did Colvin play in the second half? I didn't see him.Alexander started game with Colvin-Vrabel-Bruschi
..not b/c Colvin was hurt

“I knew from the beginning of the week I was going to get a lot of playing time,” Alexander said. “I was a little nervous, but I think that’s just natural. I just tried to treat it like a regular game.”

“He’s one of those guys who showed a lot of development this year,” fellow ’backer Tedy Bruschi said. “This was an AFC Championship game and we felt comfortable putting him in.”

While he was around the ball on Rhodes’ run, Alexander was nowhere to be found at the end of the game. Tight end Bryan Fletcher pulled in a 32-yard pass at the New England 37 with 2:01 to play on the Colts’ game-winning drive.
“I had him man-to-man,” Alexander said. “Maybe I should have lined up a little deeper. He got on top of me and Peyton (Manning) really made a good throw.”
:yeahthat: I am glad to see someone who thinking ahead....I thought Alexander played good...People need to realize not much information ever leeks in the Pats camp....We still have a bright furture.....Restock,lock and load for another season.....TBC got exposed???????????
A little analysis here folks:
San Diego, run team or pass team? I think most would say run. Who started? TBC started against the run team and did pretty good considering Seymour was struggling most of the game and needed to be relieved by Green on occasion.
Indianapolis, run team or pass team? I think most would agree they are a passing team. Alexander, the former college Strong Safety, gets the start to work against Clark and Utecht.
It's game planning people, and it gives you some idea of what the coaches think of a player's strengths; TBC does just fine against the run for a guy with half a season of starting experience. Alexander showed his inexperience biting on play action too much, but did okay overall. It was nice to see that folks griping about ILB, can have some relief knowing BB has been grooming one in system all along, and has another in development with Mays.
They decided to put Vrabel out to get more of a pass rush in the 2nd half. I thought Alexander did a good job overall, I can't fault him for getting beat by a WR on the last drive.
