O.K. I know its a bit early, but I will keep this until the actual player is announced by EA Sports which is sometime in May I believe and we will see who the guy is in this forum with some crystal ball-like prediction talent and who gets it right.

Which NFL player will make the cover of Madden 08 thus be in jeopardy of 'The Curse'?

I hope its not Maroney or or Samuel as they would be the guys on the Pats most likely- I know its not going to be Chad Jackson because you have to play for more than 20 offensive plays a year to count;) - and I know it won't be Reche Caldwell because his eyes alone would take up the whole cover (just kiddin' Reche fans:D) so my guess is it will be.......

Does Peyton still do covers for that stupid Xbox game? If not, then I bet this is the year he does Madden.

I believe Manning has a contract with Xbox for that game, which sucked by the way..So no,he is not eligible from what I understand.... Just like Brady can only do NFL Gameday cover like in 2003 which I don't think is made yearly anymore.

Shawn Merriman, no question about it. Seems to have the perfect blend of unsubstantiated arrogance and inevitable disaster.
P.S. I think L.T. will be the original pick, but will turn down the offer.

Most of the Gamestop Stores are adverstising to preorder it and they are using Chad Johnson so take that for what its worth

The focus of the game is supposed to be on the WR position this year, so I think Chad Johnson is a good bet as well.

Exactly. The cover shows what changes the new version has. I never understood people still believe it is only a popularity contest. If they intend to improve WR gameplay, they will probably show a WR.

I seriously doubt it will be Chad Johnson considering the fact that he is already on the cover of NFL Street 3 - So its very unlikely

LT was Sony's cover boy a couple years back and Manning was Microsoft's.

Good point about CJ on NFL Street. I change my vote to Steve Smith

2 good choices but I wonder if they won't be because they are just to be 2nd year players.....if I am correct EVERY Madden Cover Player since 1999 (on ps1 back then) has been in the league at least 3 or more years when they were picked for the cover...That would eliminate those 2 guys if thats the case.

By the way I pick Jason Taylor of Miami - He deserves the honor more than most if a Defensive player is picked. - If it is an offense player I pick Frank Gore
