Ebert has been destined for the PS from the day we drafted him. No surprise there

Goodbye, Dan. Thanks for the memories.

Hoyer being cut doesn't really concern me much. If both our backups suck, might as well keep the one with some upside.

Don't think they were related, think he was just saying it's not looking good for him independent of the others.

I thought Mallet looked like an NFL QB this preseason so I think it's a good decision. Plus, in Bill I trust.

I think that says a lot about how Mallett is picking things up.

I think it honestly solidifies that Waters is back. God forbid Brady gets hurt.

    Trading Koppen to Dallas?

    Probably for conditional pick.

If Cole is cut, how many minutes before Rex grabs him?

Call me crazy, but I'm starting to have my doubts about Hoyer's trade potential. [IMG]

    Koppen to Dallas.

We'll do a straight swap for Ware.

Re: Patriots released QB Brian Hoyer.

I don't recall what it is called, but there is a term for the tendency in which we as people tend to overvalue our own possessions. I think that is what happened with many fans of the Patriots in regards to Brian Hoyer over the last year or so, with some speculating that he could be traded for an early draft pick.

In the end the reality was that this was a player with zero NFL starts that didn't really light the world on fire in preseason, didn't have a rocket arm, had a relatively high contract and will be a free agent next year. Put all that together and nobody was willing to part with even a 7th round pick for him.

He seems like a great guy and I wish him well; hopefully he can catch on somewhere else where he has more of an opportunity.

Re: Patriots released QB Brian Hoyer.

He didn't look good in the preseason. I'm surprised because Mallett is the alternative if Brady were to get hurt. But not surprised that he got cut because his play was awful.

Mallett's potential definitely outweighed anything Hoyer brought to the table.
