Hoyer's an undeniable surprise, though I did have him 3rd on my depth chart.

No surprise if he was #3 on the depth chart. If Mallett were #3 I'd keep him as he has upside and two years left after this. With Hoyer a FA after this year, little reason to keep him as #3.

Hoyer to the Jets has to be a lock

He won't get to them, although it would suck if someone claimed him and trades him to the Rats like Kevin O'Connell.

I'vebeen hinking 2 QBs for awhile now. Mallet probably has more upside than Hoyer and I'm sure BB would have been happy to keep either of them, but Hoyer is a FA at the end of the season and not worth anything in a trade.

I'd like to see the id picked up and get a chance,just not in the AFCE.

And in saying Mallett's been worse, that's an assessment of camp practices we've seen and drills. A lot worse. Games, both have been subpar

I didn't see enough in Hoyer to keep him. Seemed afraid to throw deep.
However, I think he's a safer, smarter backup than Mallet.

I really didn't see enough of Ihedigbo to keep him around, plus Wilson and Ebner seem more athletic and high-motor guys.

Koppen has been a week link on the line for a few years now, sad to see a vet go, but it's business.

Why the Steelers? They have an old back-up group (Leftwhich/Batch), and a young guy that they like/want to sneak onto the PS (J. Johnson).
