Nice to see that both Kelly Washington (27 yard TD) and Heath Evens (couple of big scores/catches) are contributing to their new team

In hindsight, keeping Evens may have made sense. Is a coincidence that the pats have struggle on 3rd/4th and short so far this year? I know they used to run that little FB dive with some success on short yardage situations. Also, if this team does decide to turn to a power run game in certain situations he was a nice blocker with the added ability to carry the ball.

You can't keep everyone but I'm not sure I see a player with his skillset on this roster.

Evans, yes.

Evans, yes.

It would have been nice, but New Orleans offered far more than the Patriots were willing to, and, as Evans pointed out, they had bigger issues to worry about than resigning a fullback.

Re: Couple of ex pats contributing

Sure, we needed to make sure we had room for Prescott Burgess and Lockett.

If Evans was too expensive for his value, I'm sure there were others who could have been had.

Exactly, and how expensive could Evans have been, really? If they needed the money, they could've released Morris after they signed Fred Taylor.

Re: Couple of ex pats contributing

I don't think BB had plans for a FB. If he really wanted one, he couldve found someone other than Evans. With that said, I wish we had a FB :(

Re: Couple of ex pats contributing

As much as I think we need a fullback, perhaps it is one of those things you get used to... a FB could have been had, however this franchise chose to pass on this position.. when the offense starts to click, will see if the need is still obvious.

I haven't reviewed the tape but how did the three stooges on the Jets do?

Re: Couple of ex pats contributing

I've wanted a huge-azzed FB monster since the 2000 draft ... It's not happening because we don't need it ... I just selfishly would like to have one ... ahhh the good ole smash mout days of football ... where have you gone? Every draft I scan the players looking for the biggest one.

I thought Larry Izzo had a nice tackle on Leonhard on Leonhard's 4th quarter punt return.
