I find it very funny that Colt's fans are downplaying this game big time. I live in Indianapolis so I am surrounded by royal blue. You would not believe how many times in the last 2 days I have either read or heard people say "there are no rings awarded for the winner of this game" It is obvious that they are just setting themselves up for the lost on Sunday. If they thought they had a legitimate chance they wouldn't be saying that garbage.:p

I normally am worried about big games like this. For some reason I have no doubt the Patriots will win. I have watched some great Patriots teams but nothing comes close to this team. The scary part is they seem to be getting better every week.

It's funny. I'm the exact opposite. I've been confident about the Patriots taking out the Colts in the past, because until last year's AFCCG, the Colts never showed much fight in the playoffs. Peyton and mates have learned a few tricks from the Patriots. They remind me of the 88 Pistons. many beatdowns before they learned how to play from the Celtics.

But this Patriots team really hasn't been tested the way Indy will test them. Consider, our only test was in Dallas and Dallas had a lead on us in the 3rd quarter, and Indy is a better team than Dallas. Am I nervous? Yes.

It really isn't as inportant as a playoff game is. And although it'll help the winner get home field there's still many games to go after it and this game won't decide that. If the Patriots had won the SB last year and the last few games between the teams, I'd guess Patriots famns wouldn't see it as such a big game either. Us Patriots fans want some measure of payback/revenge where the Colt fans aren't feeling that way.

This team is getting better every week. I am tired of hearing the Patriots have not been tested yet. They are tested every week and are passing with flying colors.

I heard Brady say on WEEI that it was a very important game. So it would appear he does not agree with you.

The winner gets homefield. You don't really think the winner of this game is going to lose two games down the stretch, do you? And don't give me the "any given sunday" stuff.

Believe me, the Colts want nothing to do with Foxboro in January, and we don't want to be near that dome. So, it is a HUGE game.

I think we are just trying to keep things in perspective. Imagine if Colts win, what does that do?? Well, not a lot, because we have to turn around and go out to SD. Lose that, and we are both 8-1. With 3 cupcakes left in the AFC Least, versus some decent competition for us with our South brethren, we still have an uphill battle.

Winning does not gaurantee HFA, nor does losing make it an impossibility. What losing DOES do is tighten up our Division, with TN and Jax just 1 game behind.

Anyone that says this game is not important is in denial. This game is for home field advantage, period. Patriots win this game and they will not lose another one, period. Does Indy really enjoy coming to New England in Janurary, that is if they get by San Diego. This game is huge.

    Just a reguar season game?

Given the records of these teams the winner will have a 2 game lead on home field advantage throughout the playoffs. That fact makes this game not only the most important game of the season to date but probably the most important regular season game period. That said, I expect the Patriots to treat it like any other regular season game.:D

I actually think this game is more important for the Patriots than the Colts. Sure, we probably have a better chance to win @ Indy in the playoffs than they do @ NE but . . .

We've lost 3 in a row to them. We just completed the best half season of football in NFL history. Good God. If we can't beat them this week, I don't see any reason to think we'll beat them in January.

Re: Just a reguar season game?

I think it is the exact opposite if we are talking about potential HFA. The Pats should have beat them in the dome last year with an inferior team but just couldn't close the deal. The Colts have no reason to believe they can win in Foxborough in January.

If the Pats lose, there is still a 100% chance they win their division. Also a very good chance they are a #1 or #2 seed. If the Colts lose, their division is still in some doubt (not much in my opinion) and with SD looming they could be staring at a conference losing streak. With no bye to help recover.

Very little changes for the Pats if they lose, besides the road to the SB likely going through Indy. If the Colts lose, a reasonable amount of uncertainty sets in and the game at SD becomes HUGE.

Funny, I feel the same way. AND THIS GAME IS IMPORTANT, makes no mistake. It's about HF. BF is right in the post above. If we cannot beat them right now, what makes anyone us believe we can later on playing at the level we are right now.

That said, unlike any other Colts game, I have almost no anxiety right now. I think we will win, and win comfortably. If we don't, it's certainly not the end of the world, but the road DOES GET TOUGHER if we do.

How does the road get any tougher? Who do the Pats play that they could lose to? honestly, if you win this game I think a perfect season is pretty inevitable.

He meant the playoff road as we'd likely be @ Indy.

Agree with you, there aren't many games I see being competitive after this one. Pitt is about it.
