Chandler Compared To # TE's - How Much Worse Is He?

That's not correct. It's been personnel based from the beginning. Once the team had its 2 TE1 grouping that BB had been looking for, it went

Welker
Hernandez
Gronk
Woodhead
OWR (Moss trade year)

then

Welker
Gronk
Hernandez
Branch

then

Welker
Lloyd (Gronk missed 5 games and Hernandez missed 6)
Gronk
Hernandez
Woodhead

then

TE1b goes to jail

So, when they had the viable 2TE attack, the TEs were #2 and #3 in targets and catches, when healthy, behind only Welker.

All of our analysis would be a bit easier if we considered Hernandez a WR. The reality is that there is no TE out available that would fill his role. Hence, we should focus more energy on WR.

Hernandez played all 3 spots. On the line, in the slot, on the outside.

He was a TE.

And the reality is that BB has wanted the 2TE sets since he first arrrived, as evidenced by the Graham/Watson drafts.

The team needs a TE and a middle-deep threat at OWR. Chandler was terrible this year. I doubt the team is going to consider him the answer for next year.

It's maddening to think what the Patriots O would be doing if Hernandez wasn't a nut job. The Pats had two TE1 in their system with complimentary skillsets. What a waste.

Chandler couldn't even outperform Tim Wright's production levels in 2014. Wright was ran outta town at the end of his season so why would Chandler get brought back now? Chandler had a big opportunity In 2015 and he just didn't step up.

When we signed Scott Chandler Buffalo Fans said good riddance to bad rubbish. As mush as it pains me they were correct anybody who want to make a case for Scott Chandler keep kidding yourselves...I expect for him to be released!

Just remember, there were people here defending Wright, too. He went on to have 9 receptions for the Lions this season.

Almost, no one is going to be unhappy if the team judges to cut Chandler and sign another mid-level TE, other than those who think that we should be fine with Williams and Derby

Chandler's irrelevant, as he made such an impression as to fall to #3 on the TE snap count list.

Getting a legit TE2 to put in front of Williams is not irrelevant, however. In this team's desired offense, it's a need.
