Batlimore Ravens have a serious problem

Once the video of Rice dragging his unconcious girlfriend out of the elevator surfaced, it's gonna be really hard for Baltimore to keep him. Goodell has been all over the image problems, and this is gonna leave a mark on his outreach to women's program.

Rice has shown he is a scumbag, and mark my words, this story has traction and will be getting even more airplay in the Baltimore/DC area because it's the offseason. The sharks smell blood in the water, and the mediots and reportards will be all over this like a dog on a bone.

I, for one, couldn't think of a better team to have this happen to.

While your points are reasonable, Gwedd, it also should be noted that we've seen dozens of examples of stories that seemed to be important, but quickly passed over.

--Terell Suggs pouring bleach on his girlfriend and son, dragging her alongside a car in an open street (nothing)

--Dez Bryant assaulting his own mother! It was a major story at the time (nothing)

--Aqib Talib going after his sister's boyfriend by firing bullets (nothing)

--Numerous other cases of personal physical altercations between NFL player + wife/girlfriend/hooker (nothing)

From a criminal justice standpoint, this tape doesn't prove much of anything
. Rice and his lawyers will say that she was clearly drunk/passed out. We don't see one bit of physical altercation taking place whatsoever. There's also the fact that they were BOTH charged with simple assault. Most simple assault cases bring forth nothing more than probation, and that's when the male is charged with the SA vs the female. I'm not sure if this is anything more than a dime a dozen domestic dispute case, especially considering the fact that they were both charged.

You may be right, but I highly doubt this will be important enough for BAL to cut their franchise RB who they recently signed to a 40 million dollar contract. Just my opinion, though. I think this all gets blown over rather quickly, and the NFL gives him a total of a couple/few game punishment.

I think we'll all be happy if you're right and they do cut him though. Then we can start with the "should we sign Ray Rice" threads ;)

With the incident taking place in a casino, we can assume and police sources are already saying this is far from the only taped evidence of the incident.

And it won't matter in any way to the Ravens. They would take a big cap hit cutting Rice and have a track record of ignoring this type of stuff.

You're exactly right.

That video shows nothing more than what very well could be Ray Rice dragging an ebriated fiancee out of an elevator. If there is nothing else to go on, he'll just claim that she passed out drunk and he was getting her off the elevator.

That video alone shows nothing more than that.

If there is other evidence, then it will be a different story.

Goes to pattern of behavior by a franchise. What did BAL and the NFL do regarding Ray Lewis and Suggs? That's how they'll handle this.

I have to admit I kinda laughed seeing that tmz video with Rice dragging her, and her legs/feet blocking the elevator door, I was like...Did that just really happen? lol
