Gronkandez signed up long term. Salas, Edes right behind him. He isn't getting any younger and certainly takes a beating. We all expect Lloyd to make an impact (no spring chicken in his own), and with all the tes and fbs I think it reasonable to say they would like to move away from relying on the pass as much as they do.

Gronkandez work the middle pretty damn effectively. Do we really need a top shelf slot option or would that money be better spent on an outside the numbers type? I just don't think it makes sense to invest much more cap space in the short-intermediate passing game. I love Wes as much as the next guy, but I don't see him getting paid next year...

I'll go out on a limb and call it right now: In 2013, Wes Welker will either be on the Patriots, another team, or out of the league. You heard it here first.

In before an epic Ivan meltdown.. ;)

Maybe someone can list us a few examples of a Player coming to terms with a team after being unable to do so and being franchise tagged.

If there aren't any, I'm not seeing him back next year.

I'm going to put this high on my list to worry about, starting in March 2013.

As of today, I'm worried about the Titan game

Season hasn't started yet and I'm bored waiting for the cable guy to come....

Again, I think Wes' money would br better served elsewhere. Say, ot, or an outside threat.

Ivan would beg to differ and you are soon about to feel his wrath.

I think the Pats will say to him "go out and test the waters, come back to us and we'll offer you a deal based on market value"

If Lloyd looks studly this season, the Pats may well let Welker walk. Either that or a franchise tag plus trade.

Honestly, right now it's not a high priority for me. I'm sure it will be next spring, but right now I'm focused on 1:00 Sunday in Nashville. With all due respect, debating that issue right now is a fool's errand and I'm on enough of those on my own daily in my real life.

Right now?....I say 70% No he is gone - 30% Yes he stays

If Wes gets injured for most of the season? - 90% gone - 10% stays

If Wes has another 1,000 yard season? - 30% gone - 70% stays

In other words,I feel the better of a season he has,the better chance he remains a Patriot.

Actually the better a season he has the worse Patriot fans will say he is, and the greater the clamor to get rid of him, just as we have seen this offseason. Bright bunch that they are.
