Guys, some interesting historical facts that are interesting:

In 2001, the Pats beat the defending SB champs from the NFC West.

In 2002, they failed to make the SB

In 2003, the Pats beat a young team from the NFC South.

In 2004, the Pats beat the team from the NFC East.

In 2014, the Pats beat the defending SB champs from the NFC West.

In 2015, they failed to make the SB.

In 2016, the Pats beat a young team from the NFC South.

In 2017, ? (my guess is that the Pats beat the team from the NFC East).

Brady will start his career with 3/4 SB and will end his career with 3/4 SB.

The Double Dragon Dynasty!

In 2003, the Pats were not trailing in any game after Week 12 until the Super Bowl in Houston. Same thing in 2016, although amazingly the Pats didn't actually lead in the Super Bowl until the 63:55 mark or so.....

Good stuff except it won't be the end of Brady's career.

So you think Brady wins next year and then ends his career with another 3/4?? Sweet!!

I like patterns and I've been thinking the same thing as well. This team had a 2003 feel to it with the defense coming together and becoming more dominant as the season progressed. Some personnel moves that had chicken littles running for the doors and some gutsy moments when the team fought through adversity.

NFC East?

sh*t...the giants...

Question : Do you view 2001-2017 as one long dynasty or rather two distinct ones ? If this group (or several of the key parts) win another SB, I think I'll view them as two seperate dynasties w BB & TB in charge of both.

I'll be the hard ass here and I know folks will disagree with me.

2001-2004 was a dynasty

2005-2013 they were a really, really good franchise. Sorry but to be a dynasty they need to win championships.

2014-if they win in 2017 will be a dynasty again

2001 the defending SB champions were the Ravens.

As for the team from the NFC East good bets on Dallas. (If we make it) Might even like to see the Giants just to get that monkey off our backs. Honestly doubt either will happen though. They are too incompetent.

Oh sht. That is right. The 1999 Rams won.

I kind of feel the same way. I look at the 49ers. They won 5 in 14 years, but I think we all kind of view it as 4 for Montana, and then very good seasons for Steve Young with him finally getting over the top.

In the Pats case, literally everyone on the 53 man roster in 2014 was different than 2004 except Brady. I still view the first group as the Bruschi, McGinnest, Law, Rodney, Troy, Faulk, Light, Vrabel, Seymour and Brady teams. And these last two I view as the Gronk, Edelman, Hightower, Butler, Amendola, Blount, Slater, Nink, McCourty, Chung and Brady teams. That helps frame the perspective for me.

To me, one long dynasty sounds better.
