1st off, the guy's name is BUBIN, not Babin.
Accident
Here is what NFLDRAFTCOUNTDOWN says about Denman:
Those are the negs, here's the Positives:
"Has great size with long arms and the frame to get bigger still...Aggressive and physical...Excels as a run blocker...Stout at the point of attack...Smart and a hard worker with top intangibles...Still improving and hasn't reached his full potential."
scouts Inc:
"Possesses great height and size potential. He continues to add bulk to his frame (40-plus pounds in the last three years). A right tackle prospect with adequate overall strength. Uses his massive frame to engulf smaller defensive ends as a run blocker. Takes solid angles as a run blocker and displays better than average awareness. He does a better job of playing with leverage when setting in pass pro, which is why he is effective anchoring versus more powerful bull rushers. Possesses long arms and big hands, which he uses to overcome his lack of ideal agility in pass pro. He is a feisty player that will fight to finish. Works hard off the field at improving his game and he is very "coachable". Also has been extremely durable throughout his collegiate career."
"has value in the mid-to-late rounds of the draft because he's a big-framed, strong, tough, durable and "coachable" prospect."
Would help if I could read those....
For me to believe you that Denman is better than Britt or Bubin, you have to get me to believe that the 15th ranked OT in a draft that doesn't have a lot of OT talent is better than the 10th OT (Britt) of the 2005 draft and the 9th OT (Bubin) of the 2004 draft.
You've got your opinion, and I've got mine. I know I'm not going to change your mind, since we've already had plenty of discussion not only on this topic, but on many topics going back to the ESPN boards. You're probably not going to change my opinion on this subject, either. Also, neither of us has to make the other believe anything. We just have differing opinions which is quite common, and perfectly fine.
I could see them trading some of those picks, anyways. I tried making this mock without trades, and tried to figure out the best players who could possibly still be on the board. Some of the players I wanted to give them in the sixth had early day two grades, and probably wouldn't be on the board that late. Someone likely will fall to one, or both of those picks, but I tried to make this mock as reasonable as possible, when it came to where players are expected to go. Obviously, it's not the final product.
