2016 Draft Prospect Thread

Although, I've just seen this and, well, not so good for Procise.

PRO DAY RESULTS

Short shuttle: 4.48 seconds
3-cone: 7.32 seconds

Both are worse than Derrick Henry and both would have been about the worst at the combine. Only Coprich had a slower shuttle I believe and this would have been the worst 3-cone.

I love Prosise, not sure if I've mentioned it before....

He's raw, but can hurt you in so many ways.

Not great numbers, but he looks very smooth and coordinated on the field. We already have Lewis and White for the shifty types; Prosise brings more size and physicality to the table. I still think he's a likely target in either the 2nd or 3rd. I'd be fine with that. Tape > testing numbers, unless they're egregiously bad. Yes, his are poor, but unless he's running a 5+ SS and an 8+ 3-cone, I'm not going to worry about a few 10ths of a second.

It's his inexperience that concerns me a little but he's my 3rd RB on my board so it's not like I'm down on him - just concerned enough that I wouldn't take him before the end of the 3rd round.

Just want to re-iterate this because I find it an incredible stat:

(Rashard) Higgins...averaged a whopping 19.1 yards per reception on screens in 2014 (25 receptions, 478 yards, four touchdowns) and averaged 16.1 yards per reception on screens over the last two years.

Only dropped 11 of 171 passes.

I think I do pretty well scouting Patriots defensive backs. I had Butler, Chung, Dowling, Dennard, Ryan, and Roberts pegged in their respective years (regardless of whether or not they do well in the pros, I have a decent feel for Patriots draft tendencies in the secondary). I'm certainly not an expert, but I've done pretty well predicting the DBs for a while. Sean Davis looks very much like a Patriots type to me. He plays special teams, he's quick and athletic, and he'll come up and tackle. He's not as good in zone as some of the previous prospects, but his press man skills are excellent downfield, as you can see in the interception he hauled in against South Florida. Think he'd make a good addition to our secondary unit.

At least in terms of athleticism, he's Devin McCourty. I can see it.

Can he handle Outside CB?

He's 6'1 and over 200 pounds, and he played multiple position in the secondary -- safety, boundary corner, slot, etc. He's a little raw at corner, since he spent so much time moving around to different roles in the secondary, but he can handle big receivers and he plays very physically. His testing numbers were excellent:

Height: 6010
Weight: 201
40 Yrd Dash: 4.46
20 Yrd Dash: 2.60
10 Yrd Dash: 1.56 225 Lb. Bench Reps: 21
Vertical Jump: 37 1/2
Broad Jump: 10'06"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 3.97
3-Cone Drill: 6.64

Reminiscent of Byorn Jones, without the otherworldly leaping prowess. Actually, he's almost an identical match for Eric Rowe, whom many of us were intrigued by previously.

Anyway, yes. He can be an outside CB.

We all know bb dreams of safties in his sleep. Therefore a guy to keep an eye on is miles killebrew.

He is that lb/s combo player who can cover big receivers and te's and is also a thumper. bb could make this kid until a special player.

Any thoughts on Kevin McCallister of Florida as pass rusher in his 1st year who maybe turns into an everyday DE in the 2nd/3rd year. Freakish arm length and actually can make himself a small(er) target as he runs the arc? What round is he likely to be taken in?

Good question. I think he'll go round 5-6. You're right, he's got amazing arm length and is one of the best benders around the edge in this draft. But he's only 230 something pounds and got kicked out of school. I really don't see us drafting him, he's even undersized as a linebacker here but he's certainly an intriguing prospect although I suspect it'll be somewhere else. If we do go for an undersized linebacker I'd rather they looked at Travis Feeney who is super athletic and fast or Eric Striker who was very productive. both are probably more versatile than McCalister who is really just an edge player only.

Fantastic size and athleticism, but very disappointing tape.

We know Nick Caserio went to Northwestern's pro day and I think we all assumed it was about Dan Vitale (it probably was). But what about defensive lineman Dean Lowry?

6'6
296lbs
31" (He'll struggle to play 3-4 DE with those arms)

But, according to the excellent 3sigma athlete website, he'd be in the top 10% of NFL players in terms of athleticism:

Defensive Line

4.87 forty
1.7 10 yard split (Joey Bosa was 4.86 and 1.69 for comparison but Lowry is 30lbs heavier).

30 bench
32.5" vert
9'6" broad
7.26 3-cone (very good at 300lb)
4.38 shuttle

We've had pre-draft contact with Bronson Kafusi and Lowry's numbers are pretty similar to Kafusi, both athletically and in terms of size.

CBS currently have him graded at #274 so he could well be in play in the 6th round.

If we're looking for an athletic 3-tech to compete with Chris Jones as Easley's backup, you don't need to look that much further for athleticism.

I recommend the video above. Lowry plays 1,3,5 and 7-tech and has a really impactful game - 6 tfls.

Edit. Just noticed that Markus Kuhn is one of Lowry's DL comps. So maybe we have that guy in place already. why not two? Camp battle!

I hadn't watched Bronson Kafusi until now. He'll be added to my big board. Very impressive as a potential Nink replacement. Drops into coverage, very good at stunts (we were one on of the top three teams at running stunts last year), has a coach for a father, terrific effort and, ran a 7.03 3-cone which is slightly better than Chandler Jones. Tony Pauline called him a stud for his pro day performance:

Defensive lineman Bronson Kaufusi stood on most of his Combine numbers but participated in position drills, and as communicated to me, looked like a stud.

Kafusi looked athletic, smooth and forceful in everything he did. Many say it looks like his upper body has filled in and Kafusi is coming into his own. Known as a class act and high-character person, the senior solidified himself as a second-day pick.

Kafusi (2nd/3rd round) and Lowry (day 3) are both going on to my big board. Very impressed with both.

We've worked out both Kafusi and Jordan Jenkins now (and Bullard). I wouldn't be surprised if BB see's value in one of them in the 2nd round or with a trade back into the 3rd.

Super intriguing. He does seem to play mostly outside, though, as a strongside DE. Not saying he doesn't have potential value, but I'm not sure if he would be an inside player. Still, if he really is available that late, he seems like a no brainer to add to the rotation.

As a 6th round pick, his value would be that he could play across the DL without having to be tied down to a particular spot. a back of the roster guy with versatility to play multiple DL spots is how I see him. My concern with him as a strongside end are those short arms.

And what about CB Nick VanHoose as another 6th-round possibility?
