This is what sucks about the NFL. Forget coaches and rosters. In the end, injuries play a huge role in deciding the victor.

Waiting to hear from he fools on this board who kept claiming Brown was faking it.
SMH. That was such a bizarre position for people to take (not referring specifically to this board, just generally...)

People saw the hit, which was vicious. Then the flag came out immediately -- what possible advantage was there to lie there another 5 minutes when the flag was already out? The longer he lies there, the more likely it is that he'll miss the critical final 18 seconds because they'll put him in the concussion protocol (remember at that point, they were at the edge of FG range). If he was calculating/faking it, he'd have far more motivation to pop right up once the flag came out.

Then people in the media bite on the false narrative that Pacman Jones, of all people, puts out there -- that somehow if Brown plays it 'proves' he faked a concussion. When it's obvious that people historically *have* sustained concussions and gone successfully through the protocol in a week.

I think the optimism all week came from Brown himself, who is a generally optimistic guy. But I guess you can say the protocol worked here, because I'm sure Brown would be out there if you left it up to him. Far better for him if he's not actually ready to sit and rest a brain injury.

It doesn't matter who wins this game unless we take care of business tomorrow.

He clearly wasn't. The guy was out cold. Anytime your arms fly up like that after you're hit, the lights are out and they're not coming back on without some smelling salts.

Temps should be in the 30's not 40's. Hopefully Manning's tired arm will feel it. All we can root for is a closer hard fought game so at least the Donks are tired in 1-week.

jeeez, this MF went full Pollard annihilating a single team best players in a single season, 2 in a single game, ok that the Roethlisberger injury is all on Big Ben who is not very smart, but still Burfict made a play on that hit.

I would love the steelers to win just to shove it in the face of the Denver fans. When Pitt beat them last month all I heard was.... " the NFL wants us to lose and the refs are helping them, and our starting safties were out of that game"...... But when the were gifted their win against the pats they screamed the refs were excellent and not having half our starting O was an excuse!!! Hoping Pitt CRUSHES them!!

Well, at least PIT has the underdog card to truly play up now. All the pressure is on DEN. Maybe PIT keeps it close and Manning gets nervous and ****s the bed, as usual.

I think Pitt is a bad matchup for Peyton. A just good enough defense to cause him a world of trouble.

On the flip side, he also made New England's path easier should they beat the Chiefs and should Manning choke again.

Wow.....no Williams or Brown and Roethlisberger can't use his throwing arm....

Man, the Pats really shot themselves in the foot this season....a two week bye against a team you historically destroy that's about as banged up as can be and home field in the AFCCG would sound good right about now...

Hopefully Pitt pulls off the upset, but if Denver wins, so be it. Honestly, one of the most satisfying wins in the Belichick/Brady era would be to FINALLY win a big game in Denver, the AFCCG no less, and pretty much end Manning's career, at the same time....

It would be incredibly satisfying. Hope they get through KC to see if they can do it.

I just don't understand why coaches allow their players to talk about things that will effect how the opposition prepares. It's beyond stupid.

Roto:

It sounds like Roethlisberger is in surprisingly good shape after suffering torn ligaments in his shoulder last week. Martavis Bryant said Roethlisberger's arm strength looked "the same as usual" on Friday while fullback Will Johnson said Ben was able to complete "pretty much the whole route tree."

So IF we had HFA, roethlisberger and brown both wouldve still gotten injured and we wouldve still played the steelers in the first round .?

Well, we'd be playing them now with their injuries, which is what he's saying.

Kudos to @Rob0729 for predicting that Brown wouldn't play and citing the ESPN report.

Well, so be it. Really wish we were the 1 seed.
