Stanley Morgan
Troy Brown
Wes Welker
Julian Edelman
Irving Fryar

No Randy...Interesting.
Best we ever had for a year, but should never make the Pats HOF. I am just valuing consistency of performance in a Pats uniform. If longevity counts, he doesn't make it. Maybe I'm just old.

Fixed. Btw, I love these guys, but outside of Moss, this is a pretty lackluster group considering the franchise is more than 50 years old.

I hear ya. I think that's because historically the Pats have had more success in developing/acquiring good 'smurf' receivers (Brown/Welker/Edelman/Branch) and have far less success with the outside guys (A.Dobson/D.Hayes/C.Jackson/K.Thompkins/J.Galloway).

In fact, outside of Moss, far far below Moss the next best deep threat the Pats have had over the past 20 years would probably be Shawn Jefferson.

Thats the logic I applied. Wes, Troy, Steamer and Irving are in no matter what.

Randy -3 years of high end production.
JE11- 2 years.

  1. Welker
  2. Gabriel
  3. Crittenden
  4. Moss
  5. McMurtry

It's a good point. In my fog of JE11 being our SB50 savior, I somehow forget it was just yesterday that he was a free agent nobody wanted.

I did not complain Fryar was not on list. Rumors have it he threw some games...idk if true but he did drop some easy catches, iirc.

He also had an extremely high % of fumbles, which could also lead some to think that he was throwing games.

Yea. I put a lot of stock in a player staying with the same team for a long time.

If JE11 had 3-4 1000 yd seasons I'd swap out Rand for him.

In order, according to best career as a Patriot:

Randy Moss
Stanley Morgan
Troy Brown
Wes Welker
D Branch

Secret personal favorite: David Givens

Can't even consider Fryar for this list.

If only Randy was three years younger and we signed him in 2010 (Gronk draft) instead of 2007...

Everyone who left off Vincent Brisby is a pink hat, imo.

Troy Brown - CB, WR, SR, ST Dude did it all.

Side Note: He and Reiss have been going on a book signing tour. Should be a book signing in Framingham sometime in the near future.

If you went by added value to the team.

1. Troy Brown (offense/defense/St) wow. (He was clutch in SB 36) ( 3 Rings)
1a. Randy Moss (the impact he had on the offense was just tremendous) (He is the Goat receiver, Rice was just too sticky.)
3. Branch (Above Welker because of SB performance) (Dude was always ultra positive) ( 2 Rings)
4. Julian Edelman (Above Welker because of SB performance) ( Clutch catches in SB 49) (1 Ring so far)
5. Wes Welker (I know it maybe wrong but that damn dropped pass )

Side Note: Lived overseas or outside of NE and did not get to see the Pats play often until I settled down here in the early 90's. So my list is based on that time frame.

My top 5
Rob Gronkowski..J/K But hey, if we can include slot receivers like Wes Welker....
1. Randy Moss
2. Troy Brown
3. Stanley Morgan
4. Deion Branch
5. Wes Welker

Note: Julian Edelman is rising with a bullet.

I'm way too young to have seen Morgan Stanley do much of anything in Berry's awful offense.

That's why I decided to stick to players who have played in the Post-Biblical times.

Compared with Moss, Fryar had more receptions for more yards and a higher Yds/Rec (15.8 vs 15.1), so not sure why you would not even consider him. I assume you are confining consideration to on field exploits. In terms of receiving yards, Moss trails Morgan, Welker, Brown, Fryar, Colclough, Glenn, Cappeletti and Branch. In receptions he ranks 14th. Moss' outstanding stat is his 50TDs which rank second behind Stanley Morgan (who amassed 10,352 receiving yards with an eye popping 19.4 Yds/Rec). If Moss is on my list based on his TDs, he is on the bottom.

This is tough so I'm going to go with the best 5 seasons I've seen, and only picking one per player.

1. Randy Moss 2007
2. Wes Welker 2011
3. Troy Brown 2001
4. Terry Glenn 1996
5. Julian Edelman 2014

LMAO

You just pissed off everyone over 40.

Morgan Stanley was founded in 1935

I'm so old I've had wine with Judas and have seen Judas Priest in concert.
