We really couldn't do better than Lafell. So sick of watching so many young talented receivers playing for other teams while the GOAT is handed crap every year. Marshall cost the jets a 5th rounder..my gosh..give Brady a tall WR.

If Edeleman comes back healthy, which I believe he will be, Lafell will be back to operating in the realm he thrives in. 3rd or 4th CB in coverage. To say Edleman and Amendola are crap is at best an overstatement on your part or at worst completely clueless.

Gronk IS that tall receiver by the way. Chandler was supposed to be as well.

I'm ok with the way BB manages the roster but the lack of investment in the WR is really something that bothers me. OK, he tried Stevie Johnson in the off season and that guy from St. Louis who tore his ACL in the pre season could be an OK addition, the lazy ass Reggie Wayne, but those guys were one season rentals anyway, I wish they had invested a 2nd round pick instead of reaching for another useless safety.

It was a little risk for me to count on Gronk, Amendola and Edelman playing 2 seasons in a row without getting injured. In fact it didn't happen and also the more durable guy Laffel actually started on pup and never looked like the guy from last year. Bad risk management but it is what it is, our best WR right now seems to be Martin.

For a Super Bowl contender, we have great TE & 1 real good slot receiver. The other receivers are nothing but Jags who would be backups on most of the playoff teams.

Jags
******
LaFell
Amendola
Martin
Dobson
Harper

I would love to see the Patriots get Brady another #1 type WR on the outside to go with Edelman & Gronk.

Gawd, who would have thunk it:rolleyes:.......more whining and crying, complaining and kavetching.

It's a shame the refs won't even let Keshawn Martin play. May as well cut him.

And Marshall just missed the playoffs again like he has every season he has been in the nfl.

LaFell needs to go after this season.
We need replace him with someone that has good hands and that doesn't give up on routes.
We need a good Wide Receiver this offseason, maybe bring Marshall for a year rental.

I'm seriously considering going into dark mode for a couple of weeks. All these entitled, *****y, wanna-be fans coming out of the woodwork pissing and moaning over not having WRs.

Maybe if the oline could pass block longer than 1.8 seconds Brady might get a pass off.

I'm not sure I'd call Dola' a JAG.

I really can't blame LaFell and Martin too much. They are #3 and #4 WR thrust into starter roles. It the same way as I never gave Reche Caldwell that much grief because he was playing a role he was never intended to play and that role was more than his skill set.

I think with Edleman back and Amendola not on a pitch count, LaFell and Martin could be impactful.

Edelman not just a slot receiver...

I have to ask. Where are these super awesome receivers the Pats did not pursue? Teams tend to be better at drafting certain positions. The Pats are good at drafting defensive line, offensive line and linebackers. The Steelers cannot find good defensive players, but have skills at finding good receivers (who also tend to work only as Steelers and not on other teams). We'll see what that skill gets the Steelers in the playoffs in the end.

In lieu of crying about how the Pats should have these great unnamed receivers and are failures for not getting those guys, list some examples of receivers that the Pats actually had the draft pick to grab (and who the Pats would lose with the actual draft pick by selecting someone else) or an available free agent receiver that would not have broken the bank to obtain (there is a salary cap, as you may have heard).

This isn't Madden NFL, so if you believe Belichick could have added some great receivers within those constraints, then fire away. I tend to agree with the above statement that these lousy receivers were somehow good enough to win a title. Brady did throw the ball to more than Gronk in that game if your memory is hazy.

LaJAG or is it LaDrop is a stiff and always has been. It's bizarre how Belichick has never been able to incorporate a legit outside threat (other than Randy Moss) into this offense.

And unfortunately the OL is sucking worse than the WRs at the moment

You would like more expensive injured receivers that don't play?
