I thought this was a good article on Logan Ryan from Daniels at the ProJo. Considering fans and the media still beat up on this guy, it is nice to see someone actually point out how solid he has been this season with a nice little background story on it:

This season, he’s showing off more than just ball skills. According to Pro Football Focus, opposing quarterbacks have a quarterback rating of 55.4 when targeting Ryan this season. That puts him eighth among NFL cornerbacks.

I know PFF is not the best at this stuff, but can they be that far off that instead of a 55.4 QB rating from opposing QB that is is more like 99 rating or something like that?

I've said this in multiple threads now: the guy's technique has been excellent.
Keep an eye on Logan in games. He's where he is supposed to be, he is at the angle he is supposed to be, his body position, his hands, how vision. Every time I have seen him he is textbook....

Link no work for me.

A number of Patriots got strong athletic support from Dad growing up. Edelman is the obvious one. I think Gronk, but I'm not so sure. (There was a divorce, and I think he went with Dad will the other Gronklings went with Mom.) Tom Brady Sr. at least wrote checks for coaching that other kids wouldn't have gotten. I'm sure Matt Slater got something from Dad Jackie.

No doubt there are more, but those are the first ones that came to my mind.

As the season has progressed, the improvement in the games of Butler and Ryan are astounding. I feel comfortable with both of them back there.

I said it in another thread, but what corner in Ryan's draft would you take over him. He's forced the most turnovers and while not an elite cover man he is a starting caliber NFL cornerback.

Edit: After checking the draft again the only players I'd consider are Desmond Trufant who was taken in the 1st, and Tyrann Mathieu who is more of a safety.

Yes, sir.

Rob Gronkowski went to a local high school here in the Pittsburgh area--Woodland Hills, which is well known for being a top notch H.S. football program. I'm not sure that he was here for too long, however, as you mention the back and forth between the parents. I want to say that it was his dad who lived here at the time, though.

I definitely feel much more comfortable with Butler than I initially did after week one. Ryan is still growing on me, and hasn't quite won me over as a CB2 just yet, but he's shown great progression. I think I'd prefer to see him as the CB3, but that's in a perfect setting. We'll known much more about him in the coming weeks/months.

There was a theme of draft picks recently where BB favored Coach's sons.. am having a brain fart right now, but that seemed to be a characteristic of players he was drafting.

I was especially critical of this guy through training camp and the beginning of the season. I feel he deserved it then. He has done nothing but improve and show some of the stuff that made a lot of us very confident in him after his promising rookie season. He continues to get better and now the secondary is being talked about a lot less than it was just a few weeks ago (as Butler is also getting better each week). We sure as hell need to find a way to sure up that third spot though. Terell Brown going down is so frustrating because he looked good out there. Melvin, so far, has not looked the part at all. Fletcher is/was a disaster. Coleman can be good, but he needs more reps. That's the one spot on D that gives me pause.

Lets give it up to CB's Coach Josh Boyer for the fine Job he has done with these CB's. Even Tarell Brown before he went down looked pretty good. On Logan Ryan one cannot say enough about how much improved he is: Butler gets a lot of press but Ryan have been just a good. Ryan like Butler have been a thorn in opposing WR's side.
