OT: Deadspin releases photos of Greg Hardy's victim

Her bruises does not look like someone who was picked up over his head and thrown onto a tiled floor in the bathroom or a sofa full of guns. It looks more consistent with someone being restrained or held to tight. If she broke a table in his living room, that likely contributed to the cuts on her hands and feet. Are we gonna say he uppercut her because she has a bruise under her chin? How desperate are we? Why do we always ignore what may have happened to the man during cases of domestic abuse? Hardy may be a piece a crap but there are 2 sides to every story.

Same case with Manziel, should I be convinced he was driving his car down the highway and just decided to beat his girl down, while riding one handed? Are you trying to convince me that girl didn't hit him back or even started hitting him first, which led to her beatdown. I get the whole "a man shouldn't put his hands on a woman" thing, but IMO, if she's trying to fight like a man, unless she's defending herself, then she deserves to go down like one.

Wowza....

You should share this gem with your mom, your wife and your daughter.....or whichever combination thereof applies.

The NFL had the photos.

Florio:
The Cowboys aren’t saying whether they saw the photos from the Greg Hardy criminal case before signing him to a contract. The NFL is acknowledging that the league indeed had access to multiple photos generated by the incident.

According to the league office, NFL investigators obtained photos from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department along with seven photographs that had been provided to the District Attorney by a non-law enforcement source.

The photos were obtained subject to a protective order, which expressly limited their dissemination to the league, the NFL Players Association, Hardy, and any attorneys, investigators, and expert witnesses working on Hardy’s case. The protective order generated in connection with the seven photos from a non-law enforcement source does not authorize the league to share the photos with any team(s) considering the possibility of signing Hardy to a contract.
NFL had Hardy photos, subject to a court order

It's a little more than that. ****dell had three options on which hill he wanted to fight/die on, Go hard after the guy that he had zero evidence and needed to spend millions of dollars to frame, go after the woman beater or go after both. He decided to just go after Brady.

No can tell me that he couldn't have appointed himself arbitrator of hardy's appeal and uphold it and go to federal court over a domestic violence issue. Instead he chose to go after arguably the biggest icon in the history of the nfl over a few clicks of PSI that science says was where it should have been.

Imagine if Goodell let someone else hear the Brady appeal and handled the Hardy appeal himself. He could have kept the suspension at 10 games and said it was not only for what Hardy did, but also to send a message to other players who may find themselves in similar situations in the future. Goodell would have been praised for taking a stand and sending a strong message.

If the NFLPA wanted to take the case to court, the NFL would always have the pictures in their back pocket. I don't think they could have introduced them in court, but they would eventually be made public, like they are now, and, to the general public, it would reinforce that Goodell did the right thing. Even if the NFLPA won the court case, they would like terrible, publicity-wise, for supporting Hardy and it probably wouldn't earn them much sympathy or support during the next labor discussion.

If Goodell really wanted to look good and solidify his authority, this was the case to throw his whole weight behind. The fact that he didn't is baffling.

What's worse (for him, not for people who dislike him), is that there is nothing he can do to fix things now. The arbitrator he appointed already ruled. He can't go back and suspend Hardy again. He had his chance to do that 6 months ago and passed on it. If Dallas doesn't want to suspend Hardy, Goodell can't make them. Instead, he has to explain why he saw those pictures and didn't do anything to make sure his original suspension stuck.

Game of semantics ...

Cowboys say they did not have access to the photos which is not the same as they did not see them before they signed Hardy ... Jerruh and integrity.

Too bad this story was released on a Friday. She just had to sit on it for three more days. Oh well....

I hope this puts Goodell back on the hot seat but unfortunately we all know it won't.

WOW! It is pretty horrifying to find out that Goodell had these photos and his reaction was to cut his suspension from 10 games to 4? While almost at the same time, he was refusing to lower Brady's suspension to a crime where there was no evidence of a crime. Is your mind ready to explode yet.

BTW- Lest we forget. The NFL had pictures and evidence of Ben Rothlessberger's rape charge that were equally chilling and decisive., That's why he got suspended even though he wasn't charged with a crime, because the woman wouldn't cooperate afterward.

She decided it wasn't worth it, because she knew SHE would be the one attacked on the stand, and threatened by Steeler fans. IIRC her name never become public and she too came to a "settlement" with Ben. I hope she is doing well

The worst part of this it's being said right before the 3rd and 14 conversion by Edelman.
I rewatch the game sometimes and just smirk at it. So fitting for him to be giving ridiculous commentary right as the game changing play happens.

Those last few minutes were Deflategate Karma's opening Salvo, we should thank that needle **** for providing the final drop of sewer water that ultimately overwhelmed the damn.

The arbitrator cut it to 4 ... not goodell.
Harold Henderson needs to be in the news regarding these photos.

Actually this story makes them look good. It is the independent arbitrator who would look like an anachronistic misogynistic baboon when this story is done.

Certainly it will once again shine light upon the term 'independent' ...
Henderson already under the microscope ... hopefully they intensify the magnification of this guy.

Just cause i was curious to see the reaction. I went on a few Cowboys websites.

I could not believe what some fans were saying.

To be fair I think the majority reacted like you would expect actually people that have empathy to do... Some of the other examples were...

"You have no clue. Hardy has marks on his face...who is to say she didnt attack him first?"

"The reporters on ESPN are acting like Hardy is satan himself. They were like "Just a warning... the photos you are about to see are very, VERY graphic." ...and they weren't even that bad. It looked like the woman fell off her swing at the playground and got a couple scratches. And isn't there no evidence that he even attacked her? All I know is that the girl was heavily drugged and Hardy made the 911 call. Sounds like the crazy chick probably injured herself."

"Now that I've seen the pictures I'm pretty convinced it wasn't abuse. Yeah, there was a confrontation and it turned physical. But had he abused her, as she claimed, she would have much worse bruising"

"We don't know each party's part in the altercation.
Hardy obviously was violent with her and she with him.
Play ball"

And those were just on the first page of a thread on cowboyszone. All these members have over 1000 post btw.

I just hate how some fans can be like this.

Does it though?

All people need to do is be reminded that ****dell had the power to appoint himself arbitrator and uphold the 10 games and risk it going to court and look tough and take against domestic violence. Instead he was too busy listening to people like kensil and some owners about going all out against Brady and the Patriots over nature's effect on air pressure.
