Not terror just a healthy respect for what is in my opinion a good team who will play us at home. They are 4-3 but could easily be 6-1 So I think it is fair to treat them with a healthy amount of respect. Also looking at their roster they have some talented guys and are not the best match up for us.

Beckham is going to be hard to take away no matter what we doing. He is just one of those special players. They have a few others guys (Randle, Vereen, and some other role players) that while not play makers can get open and catch the ball and know how to play well in this league. Their running game is not all that good but serviceable and enough to keep you honest. They are a team that is not shy about throwing a lot which is where the Patriots are weak.

While their D does not get great pressure they ball hawk pretty well.

I am not saying I don't expect a win cause I do but playing on the road against a winning team is not usually easy.

Look at the Colts game. We were better than them but playing on the road and they have 1 very fortunate play (and 1 very stupid play to kinda even it out) and it was a hard fought game against an inferior opponent that was close for most of the contest. I see this as such a game very possibly.

In those games if you make that 1 mistake late in the game things turn bad for you fast.

Gotta remember too that we ALWAYS get other teams' best efforts.

No one ever fails to show up, or looks past us.

Just more evidence of what this dynasty has truly accomplished, and how gr8 BB and TFB are.

What you forgot Curtis Martin? He could make something out of nothing too.

Didn't make anything out of the Rats, and lost out on Superbowl rings by not staying with the Pats.

Hard not to be highly impressed with this team. And that;s saying something considering how many impressive teams we have all seen in Foxboro.

As far as going undefeated ... looking at the remaining schedule, I would be more surprised that they lost a game than if they didn't.

at NYG
at Denver
at NYJ
at Miami

On the road against both Mannings and then two divisional rivals who will potentially fighting for the playoffs while the Patriots might be playing for nothing. I think undefeated is a tall task. If you are that confident, though, I would recommend putting down a bet in Vegas. You will get 15:1 odds or better.

As long as that loss is a clean loss (not influenced by the NYJFL) then I will applaud the team that wins it, just as I did in 2007.

I sorta want to see the 18-0 Patriots face off against the 18-0 Packers in SB50. That way those ancient peckers in Miami are guaranteed to lose.

(And man, that'd be the most hyped thing in the history of hype. 50th anniversary of the Superbowl! Brady! Rogers! Brady v. Rogers! Someone going 19-0! Can Brady humiliate Goodell by forcing him to hand over the Lombardi to NE yet again!)

Yeah, I have looked at the schedule; I would be more surprised if they lost 1 than if they won all. Presuming they need to play all out the rest of the way, of course.

A fitting finale to Manning's final season.

Oh my lord. I remember that guy. Him and his Chris Chambers signature (or was that Randy McMichael)? Seemed like we had a lot more "outsiders" in the forum back in the day.

This site has become very hard on posters from other teams.

Interesting. I agree the Pats are the class of the AFC but to me the AFC in general seems stronger than last year. Last year it was the Ravens & Pats then everyone else.

This year I you have more quality teams going in.

Last year's AFC was about 4-5 teams deep. This year's AFC is about 4-5 teams deep.

It's actually the exact same crew as last year, just swap out the Ravens for the Jets. Colts are worse, Bengals are better. No major difference except for the surprising number of unblemished records, which won't last.

Barring injury, stupidity or collapse, we can pretty much guess the AFC playoffs already:

AFCE - Patriots
AFCN - Bengals
AFCS - Colts
AFCS - Broncos
WC - Steelers
WC - Jets

Not only that. We can guess how it goes mostly.

Jets (6) @ Broncos (3)
Steelers (5) @ Colts (4)

Jets beat Broncos & Steelers beat Colts.

Jets @ Pats (1)
Steelers @ Bengals (2)

Pats beat Jets & ... ummm??? I think Steelers but it will be close

Pats over Steelers.

Worse road for the Pats would be both Steelers and Bengals but i don't think it will happen.

The Steelers have the Broncos, the Seahawks, and 2 against the Bengals. Tough schedule, but unless the Raiders are legit (good test Sunday) or the Bills go on a roll (unlikely), it's hard to see who gets hot enough to displace them.

That's a good summary Bob....The Colt's next 3 games are at Carolina, Denver and at Atlanta and they also have to go to Pitt and Miami. They have 4 losses already, there is a good possibility they could have 9 losses, any chance anyone else in that sorry division could squeak out 8 wins? That would be great!!!

Nobody else in that division is cracking 5 wins. It's unbelievably sad.

one cool story nantz said last nite was how brady edelman and amendola got together in montana in the off season to train running routes at high altitude to gain fitness.

Extremely unlikely, but would be awesome to see the Jags and Raiders overtake the Colts and Broncos down the stretch. Can you imagine if Manning started out 6-0 only to collapse down the stretch and lose the division, then go one and done again as a wild card?

If Houston's defense was playing up to its ability, the Texans would run away with that division. The front office is going to have to figure out whether the problem is coaching (RAC), talent decline/slow development (i.e. Vince, Cushing, Clowney) or both.

They need a QB upgrade, too, but could have won the division without that if the defense hadn't decided to take the year off.

Broncos could beat the Jets at home. It could be like a 9-6 rockfight.

Seriously. On paper, the Texans are worlds better than the Colts. It's a damn shame their defense is underperforming so badly... But at the same time, they're only 1 game behind in the standings. It's still theoretically possible to right the ship.
